There’s been growing speculation lately that GTA 6 could slip into 2027, with March–June mentioned as a potential release window. Many are already preparing for the possibility of another delay, though nothing has been officially confirmed. Personally I don’t think that would be the case.

We didn’t get GTA 6 Trailer 3 and pre-orders yet, but all eyes are now on the Take-Two earnings call this Thursday, May 21. Either way, the next 6 months of GTA 6 are going to be insane: Trailer 3, gameplay trailer, new characters, screenshots, pre-orders, cover art, character trailers, and massive street marketing like billboards and building murals are all still ahead before launch. The hype is just getting started.

This drought of Rockstar Games news is starting to feel a little underwhelming. We haven’t had anything positive for GTA VI in over a year, and as we approach the first set release date, there’s still been no direct clarity from Rockstar since the delay back in November 2026. It’s hard to criticise them because their quality standards are unmatched, but the silence is definitely noticeable. I get that Rockstar never promised updates, but it’s still disappointing that we’re heading into May 26 with Trailer 2 pinned to their socials and that date still presented as the release target. Hopefully Strauss gives us some real clarity during Thursday’s earnings call.
