My office is in round rock so maybe I’m biased, but the best Vietnamese in Boston is in Dorchester so that’s gonna be an equivalent commute (if not longer by public transit) and also not any better than they have in Austin. Also worth to mention that the cuisine in Austin is more southern style viet compared to bostons northern style. So definitely comes down to personal taste a bit

@bladeofytris @YIMBYLAND Oof. Austins Vietnamese is VERY mid unless you head 30 mins out to the northern suburbs. One or two exceptions to that maybe. Thai is ok, probably 5 or so spots in central Austin worth mentioning.

unfortunately austin is the worst food city I've ever lived in. It's fine and has its strengths, it's just easily below SF/NYC/Boston/Seattle imo unless you REALLY like barbeque and breakfast tacos and overpriced "new american" type stuff
