I am pleasantly surprised and extremely happy with READY OR NOT 2: HERE I COME. It’s easily superior to Radio Silence’s most recent works of Abigail and Scream VI. I seem higher on RON2 than others which maybe is my low expectations based on their last two films. The movie thrives by differentiating itself from the first film in a modern aesthetic and slick tone, but specifically with the new rules of the game, expanding the universe, and the newly introduced families. Act 3 stunned me in the best way as the film reclaimed the original’s gothic roots.  Sarah Michelle Gellar and Shawn Hatosy are the MVPs as individual performers and a duo. Their sibling dynamic mirroring and contrasting the sisters gives the film an extra dimension. For me, the biggest flaw is one I predicted from the first trailer: introducing Grace’s sister reveals the 👏 exact 👏 same 👏 arc with the same character & plot details as Sam and Tara in Scream 5/6, which is trite, dispiriting and discouraging. Yet, the dynamic did elicit emotional resonance from me by the end.  Something odd about Ready or Not 2 is, the original film soared on the back of Samara Weaving’s outstanding performance, whereas here I found Grace to be less dynamic than the universe, style and other families until act 3, where she feels novel and fresh again.  Radio Silence feels at home with this story and operates the humor and mythology effortlessly. It’s so different from the original that it’s difficult to compare.  Rating: 8/10

@TV_Fanatic_Girl Indeed! The last time I tried to bump into her was when I was 19 and I went to California from Australia, but there was no wifi / roaming at the time and it turned out she was filming across the road from my motel !! It seems I’m never meant to meet her …

saw this last night, it shreds. Samara Weaving is a treasure (duh) and the newcomers are all outstanding (SMH and Hatosy are especially perfect, thank god). minus a few points for missing the visuals of the first film, but everything else is aces. it’s fun as hell you guys!
