LoP Shri @RahulGandhi and @INCIndia continue to shamelessly exploit students as political tools to manufacture disruption during the Monsoon Session of Parliament. Shri @RahulGandhi and @INCIndia chose to stage a dharna outside the Hon'ble Prime Minister's residence , causing inconvenience to the public and disregarding established security protocols. Even after Government conveyed its readiness for a comprehensive discussion, the Congress chose political spectacle over democratic debate. Their objective was never solutions for students, it was disruption for political headlines For Rahul Gandhi, this is not about students. This is about manufacturing confrontation after every genuine avenue for discussion has been opened. Our Government remains 100% committed to discussing NEET and addressing every genuine concern of our youth on the floor of the House. The students of India deserve far better than being treated as props in a political campaign. They deserve certainty over chaos, solutions over slogans and responsibility over disruption. We owe our students more than outrage. We owe them answers, reforms and accountability. That is exactly what our government remains committed to delivering.

"Everything is not DS sir" I keep getting this comment under my posts. The thing is I mostly talk about the DS hand when I see it. So the comment is like telling a cardiologist "everything is not about the heart" under his posts, because the patient already has kidney disease. The cardiologist will acknowledge the kidney issue but say he will talk about the heart because that's what is going to cause major issues now and that's his specialty. This is my answer to everyone who posts that one liner seeded to dilute my warnings on the DS. Imagine the country to be a complex system like the body. Yes the body's genetics will predetermine something like heart disease. The issue is systemic. Agreed. But if someone then warns the fast food, tobacco, and drinks companies are making him sick and helping the healthcare industry, it would be silly to argue and say "why blame them and their products, he already has heart disease." Why? Because he may already have heart disease, but if he's influenced by the fast food, tobacco, and drinks companies, keeps doing as they say in their ads, it will worsen his own condition and accelerate "regime change" on the body - that's death (and rebirth if you believe it.) A doctor will warn you about dangers of colds, flus and lab created covid if you have an immune condition. Yes, your ailment is already there. You already have an issue. But if you give them a chance, the viruses will hijack your system badly utilizing your issue and do a regime change on your body. Understood? Remember my analogies and tell your friends why talking about the DS is important. Tell them "yes a country has issues but you can't ignore the outside hand that's trying to hijack the issues, amplify our problems, and institute a regime change."

Dear Doctors, If your Head of Department, consultant, or senior tells you that sleeping 3–4 hours and working 30–36-hour shifts is “part of training,”then they are indirectly killing you as per this research paper and report The consequences of chronic sleep and food deprivation are not only causing diabetes , dyslipidaemia, obesity, cardiovascular disease, stroke, and serious mental health disorders But are also linked to Reproductive health disorders including reduced sperm quality, erectile dysfunction, and menstrual disturbances. Stop glorifying burnout. Stop calling exploitation “discipline.” Stop treating exhaustion as a rite of passage. Your health is not the price of your MD/MS /DNB degree. Demand legal duty hours as envisaged under the Residency Scheme, 1992. Protect your body. No hospital, no professor, and no degree will give you back the years of health lost to a toxic work culture.
Swamidass@jsdass1978

Dear junior resident doctors please have a look at the effect of food and sleep deprivation from two sources viz PGIMER response and a research paper 1) Bipolar disorder 2) Diabetes 3) Dyslipidaemia 4) Fatty liver 5) Heart problem 6) Obesity 7) Schizophrenia 8) Stroke Missed things are reduction in sperm quality, erectile dysfunction and disturbed periods for females. So please be cautious. Please don’t let toxic squeezing HoD / consultant / senior PG to spoil your health irreversibly.   Work on legal duty hours as per residency scheme 1992. Save your mental and physical health. HoD / consultant can't help you on above issues as they themselves have 80% of these issues. Please focus on your health 1) If a senior PG forces you to work, call UGC anti ragging line 1800-180-5522. 2) If toxic HoD forces you to work long illegal duty hours that puts patient care under risk, complain at the police station, NMC and CPGRAM. 3) No compromise in quality patient’s care even though the HoD & Dean forces and blackmails using internal marks & thesis. 4) A sleep deprived, food deprived & overworked doctor can’t serve legitimate interest of patients 5) Our patients need healthy doctors. Let’s not betray their trust and let them down due to prejudiced, toxic people in the system.

#WATCH | Dombivli, Maharashtra: On Shiv Sena Corporator allegedly assaulted medical staff, Dr Mahendra Baviskar, father of Dr Srishti Baviskar, says, "The media has witnessed everything that occurred. A doctor, a nurse, and an aunt were attacked, and we are demanding justice; our doctors will continue this strike until justice is served. The doctors are currently under great stress. They are unwilling to work. They feel that someone might come and attack them—that anything could happen to them. That is why they are standing there in a state of terror. My daughter is scared too. She is not in a good state of mind; she is anxious. She is afraid to come here. She fears that someone might hit or harm her... We demand justice and that the accused receive the strictest possible punishment..."

62% of Indian resident doctors work more than 36 hours at a stretch. 86% report severe sleep deprivation. 97% earn less than an entry level civil servant. 76% are assaulted while on duty. We can call ourselves civilised only when we learn to treat our doctors like they treat us.

@ajay43 the whole healthcare/hospital system is broken and needs to be fixed. The blame for this kind of behavior is not just on patients families but also the attitudes of hospitals/doctors.. Docs have to take a moment & explain things, not be dismissive & say “they won’t understand”

THE SKIN DOCTOR@theskindoctor13

A Mumbai govt hospital advised a pregnant woman's family to consider transferring her elsewhere, as pre-delivery fetal assessment indicates her newborn will likely require NICU care, and all of their NICU beds are currently occupied. The woman's husband called Shiv Sena (Shinde) corporator Ramesh Mhatre, who arrived with his goons and assaulted doctors and nurses. If you understand how hospitals work, you'll know a bed not being available is not the doctor's fault. You can't ask another critical newborn to vacate a bed, nor can you provide NICU care on the floor, nor can you "arrange bed from some other dept" because a NICU bed isn't just a bed, it comes with ventilators, monitors, oxygen, infusion pumps, and other life-support equipment. So the blame, if any, goes on the govt. But doctors are the easiest targets, and assaulting them earns politicians easy political mileage. I know some will say, "Doctors are evil and deserve it," and that's fine. I'm not seeking sympathy. This post is for parents and medical aspirants. Unless your parents own a hospital, you choose govt jobs with better working conditions like the Army, paramilitary, or Railways, plan to pursue USMLE (or an equivalent pathway), or intend to move to private practice where you can arrange your own security, think carefully before choosing this profession. Most govt hospitals are hellholes. You can serve patients well for decades and still end up being abused or assaulted by a tenth-pass corporator, a publicity-hungry politician chasing cameras, or patient relatives who think every death could have been prevented if only the doctor had "tried harder."

If the doctors had delivered and child would have died due to lack of NICU, then this same mandbuddhi would have blamed the doctors for not referring her to higher center when facilities are not available. Dada who is in power didn't fix waterlogged roads or invested in NICUs in smaller hospitals. But is first to beat the hospital staff who knows their limitations.

#WATCH | Dombivli, Maharashtra: On Shiv Sena Corporator allegedly assaulted medical staff, mother of patient Sadhana Karande says, "... My elder daughter was pregnant, and we took her to a hospital after sonography and all other checkups. We told them it was an emergency case, but they said they could not treat her and asked us to take her to Sion Hospital. We requested the doctors, explaining that the roads were flooded and it would take hours to reach another hospital. We told them my daughter's life was at risk and requested that her delivery be carried out there. We appealed repeatedly to the doctors and staff, but they refused and insisted that we take her to another hospital. My daughter was in a critical condition.
