Drill baby drill. Opinions not my own. “Every great cause begins as a movement, turns into a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket”

Cardinal Pizzaballa: “It is true that the police had said that the orders from the internal command prevented any kind of gathering in places where there is no shelter, but we had not asked for anything public, just a brief and small private ceremony to preserve the idea of the celebration in the Holy Sepulchre. There were no clashes; everything was done in a very polite manner. I do not want to force the issue; we want to use this situation to try to clarify better in the coming days what to do, in respect for everyone's safety but also in respect for the right to prayer."

Is the Israeli government preventing Christians from accessing holy sites? Not really. It is implementing policies aimed at protecting peoples of all faiths from being injured or killed by Iranian missiles.

This is the average street in Jerusalem’s Old City (location of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher) Holy sites (including the Western Wall) are closed because if mass casualty event occurred, first responders cannot traverse these streets with vehicles (fire trucks, EMS, police)

Israel has shut Jerusalem sites to every faith during the war. All are pissed off about it. The reason is simple: safety. See pic 4. Large crowds of worshippers and Iranian missiles are not a good combination, no matter the denomination. Let's not be silly about this.

Will @USAmbIsrael get clarity on why Cardinal Pizzaballa was blocked by police from saying mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre on Palm Sunday today?

Megyn Kelly on the Iran War: “As this thing goes south, we need to know exactly who talked [President Trump] into it and what representations were made to convince the president that this was a good idea. Who? Who specifically? The names we know are Bibi Netanyahu first and foremost. Lindsey Graham, equally to blame. We know from the Wall Street Journal report that Mark Thiessen of Fox News and General Jack Keane were major advocates of the war. Ok, I like those guys, but they appear to have been very wrong that this was a good idea.” “And we could keep going. Mark Levin, chief among them. He says now, ‘Oh, it wasn’t me.’ Every night, every night on Fox News out there urging the president to do this. And then he had a meeting with him in June, where we know, he denies it now, we know he pushed him for this.” “Ben Shapiro was out on his show every day pushing this war. Like, there were very prominent activists on the right who were practically frothing at the mouth for this thing. And now that it’s not only going poorly, but the president’s poll numbers are in a precipitous freefall, we’d love to see some accountability. Who? Who promised him what?”

Megyn Kelly just got steam-rolled by the genius that is Ben Shapiro 👏🏽 “She was Pro-trans until the clicks changed. She was pro-Israel until the clicks changed. She was Erika’s “friend” until Candace’s audience mattered more.”

Israeli naval commandos just raided a school in Khiam, Lebanon and uncovered hundreds of Hezbollah weapons, missiles, explosives, and rifles. Alongside the weapons were items bearing the UNHCR logo. I guarantee you won't see this story on CNN or the BBC.

Yes... yes your concerns absolutely were, and still are, irrational. You all compared it to the iraq war. It hasn't even been a month, and the IRGC has been weakened and splintered beyond repair. Of course, they still have groups (split factions at this point) firing off missiles, laying sea mines, fighting, etc. But this is nowhere near anything we saw of their fighting capabilities before. It has diminished significantly! And it hasn't even been one month! Of course, there is still things to do... but to claim "see we weren't irrational" is, ironically, irrational

Some of us expressed great concern about the Iran War when it was first launched. We were shouted down and condemned as “panicans” and “blackpillers” and even Islamist sympathizers. But it’s pretty clear from how things have gone that our concerns were absolutely reasonable and legitimate. Maybe Trump will get us out of this thing soon and it still won’t spiral into a long and drawn out war. But even if that happens — and I’m not convinced it will — no thoughtful person can deny at this point that the spiral and long war scenario is very much a possibility. No reasonable person, at this stage, can say that our concerns were irrational. What looks irrational now — and always did — is the demand for blind allegiance and unthinking “trust” in our elected leaders, as though we are called to have faith in politicians like we have faith in God.

Two years ago, almost 0 schools were interested in even considering going phone free. Now, whole school systems are phone free. The rest are scrambling to get on board We owe @JonHaidt a tremendous debt of gratitude. What he achieved - this quickly - is almost unimaginable.

The Anxious Generation was published two years ago today, in a very different world. Back then, the most common objection I got was resignation: "The train has left the station." "You can't put toothpaste back in the tube." "It's how the kids connect today." Today, the world looks very different. It turns out that if our kids were all on a train and we learned it was heading toward a collapsed bridge, we'd find a way to stop it and bring them safely back to the station. That’s what’s happening now. After the historic verdicts in Los Angeles and New Mexico, today is a great day to reflect on the capacity of people in democratic societies to take action, even when opposing some of the most powerful corporations in history. We're getting access to the courts. We're getting phone-free schools. We're seeing whole neighborhoods letting kids out to play, unsupervised, which is what we older folk all remember as the best part of childhood. So I want to recognize: --The mothers (and, right behind them, fathers) who rose up by the millions and powered the movement. --The farsighted governors and legislators in red states and blue states who have been innovating on policy solutions. --The leaders of a dozen of nations, who are raising the age to 16 for opening social media accounts (with a special shoutout to Australia, for going first). --The teachers and school administrators who had their classrooms disrupted for 15 years, and who are now eager to think through new solutions as screens have taken over and obstructed learning. --The grassroots organizations who have been dedicating their efforts to advocate for all of the above in their local communities. --The millions of members of Gen Z who have been rising up, demanding agency over how they spend their lives in the digital era, and finding better ways to connect in real life. And one final group: the survivor parents--the ones you saw in those pictures of people embracing on the front steps of the LA courthouse. I have met many over the years. I am in awe of their courage and tenacity, their willingness to tell their stories of loss, over and over again, to different audiences, in the hope that no other parent would have to endure what they have endured. At long last, juries and legislatures are hearing you, and are acting. Together, we are calling the train back to the station. Together, we are rolling back the phone based childhood and reclaiming life in the real world. The work continues. If you’re not already involved, join us: anxiousgeneration.com/join
