There are two completely different crypto markets using the same infrastructure. @WalletConnect's new State of Onchain Payments report analyzed 1.11 million wallets, and the split is clear: The richest 4,400 wallets hold $35 billion in stablecoins. The other 1.1 million? $700 million combined. The average stablecoin balance is $32,704. Sounds healthy. But the median balance is $10! And on top of that: ⇴ 79% of wallets hold less than $100 in stablecoins ⇴ just 0.4% of wallets control 98% of all value So you end up with two completely different user groups sharing the same rails. On one side are whales holding $100K+ and needing deep liquidity, compliance workflows, and treasury integration. Meanwhile, everyday users holding $10–$50 need: ⇴ low fees ⇴ simple UX ⇴ merchants that actually accept crypto Most payment infrastructure is still being built for the whales because that's where the volume is. However, the real usage pressure is coming from the other side. The people trying to make small everyday transactions where fees directly affect usability. Like someone trying to spend $20 at a coffee shop and getting hit with a $3 gas fee. And that’s the clearest example of how that gap shows up in real usage. Same infrastructure. Both are valid tbh. Creators have seen projects disappear overnight after using their audience for hype. Projects have also seen creators farm engagement with zero real alignment or conviction. The gap is coordination. That’s where creator agencies come in. They’re supposed to bridge trust by vetting both sides, structuring clear deals, setting performance expectations, and ensuring payouts and deliverables are transparent and enforceable. But most creator agencies are cut throats, who want to eat from both end. A good agency should reduce friction, not extract from both sides. They should make sure creators get paid fairly, projects get real distribution, and both sides can repeat the relationship without distrust building up.
