Desperately trading for Anthony Davis would seriously test the patience of Blazers fans. Being cheap sucks, and brings down the vibes. Getting rid of young guys for AD is a shortcut to hell.
Bryson Akins@BrysonAkinsNBA

Per @JakeLFischer of The Stein Line: “I've heard that same trade sentiment floating around the league ahead of potential contract extension talks this summer and I've likewise been advised by sources close to the situation to regard Portland as a potential Davis suitor should it fall short in its Antetokounmpo pursuit.”

I am out on AD in Portland and it’s entirely based on health or lack thereof. Throw on 60m a year for the next 2 years and I don’t see how he’s capable of meeting that threshold necessary to justify that unless the Wizards were giving him away w/something valuable alongside.

For those people saying, “If @MrsErikaKirk were truly grieving, she would’ve taken a year off for her kids and therapy”: Coretta Scott King led a march in Memphis DAYS after MLK’s assassination and kept fighting for civil rights for decades. Myrlie Evers-Williams jumped right into activism after Medgar’s murder, raised their 3 kids, and later ran the NAACP. Ethel Kennedy raised 11 children while pushing the Kennedy family’s political and social causes. Betty Shabazz, who was there when Malcolm X was killed, raised their 6 daughters, got her doctorate, became a prominent activist, and spent her life protecting his legacy. Elisabeth Elliot stayed in the jungle with the tribe that murdered her husband and kept doing missionary work. Some women are just built different. They throw themselves into their husband’s cause instead of falling apart. It’s called “immersion” and is common in grief. You might not like it, but you don’t matter. That woman will protect and continue her husband’s legacy, no matter how awful you people are.

Imagine raising a child for 21 years - and one morning he is abducted by terrorists who run your country, who decide to hang him. For no reason. You try to scream to the world to save him - but no one listens. Imagine.

On This Day, May 2, 2004: Palestinian terrorists ambushed a car near Kissufim in Gaza & murdered Tali Hatuel — a 34-year-old Jewish pregnant social worker — and her four young daughters: Hila (11), Hadar (9), Roni (7), and Meirav (2). Tali was eight months pregnant with her first son. The terrorists shot at her car, forcing it off the road. After the initial gunfire, they ran up and executed the mother and her four little girls at point-blank range, emptying their magazines to make sure they were dead. This wasn’t “resistance.” It was the deliberate massacre of a pregnant woman and her children — pure evil designed to maximize Jewish suffering. This is what was happening in Gaza. The following year, in 2005, Israel completely withdrew from Gaza — uprooting 21 Jewish communities, removing every last settler and soldier, dismantling homes, and even digging up Jewish graves to move them. It was one of the most painful and controversial decisions in Israel’s history. Israel gave the Palestinians full control of the territory in the hope they would finally choose peace and build a state. Instead, the Palestinians elected Hamas. Then Hamas staged a bloody coup, expelled Fatah from Gaza, and ruled the Strip with an iron fist ever since. Almost immediately after the withdrawal, the terrorists began firing rockets at Israeli civilians. They never stopped — thousands upon thousands of rockets over the next 18 years, interrupted only by temporary “ceasefires” that Hamas routinely broke — right up until October 7, 2023. So yea, it certainly didn't start on October 7.

Five years ago today, my wife Lisa had her AstraZeneca Covid vaccination — it's a day that changed our families’ lives forever. There’s a clear line in life now: before that day, and everything after. Today is a day I will always wonder: what if?

Sen. Ron Johnson: “This is a PROFOUND revelation… The US FDA now admits COVID-19 vaccines KILLED American children.” Healthy kids — virtually ZERO risk from COVID — were FORCED by Biden mandates into lethal shots. Leaked FDA memo on child deaths: regulators confess their actions “we have harmed more children than we saved.” They KNEW the risks. They HID the signals. They MANDATED the deaths anyway. Mass murder by mandate. Where is the justice?

Interesting provision: "no team would be able to win three consecutive top-five picks" Would have prevented: Spurs (Wemby, Castle, Harper) Pistons (Cade, Ivey, Ausar, Holland) Cavs (Mobley, Garland, Okoro) Rockets (Green, Jabari, Amen, Reed)

The NBA has disclosed to its 30 GMs a singular new anti-tanking reform that expands the draft lottery to 16 teams, flattens odds, and have a relegation zone where the bottom 3 teams are penalized with fewer lottery balls for the No. 1 pick. ESPN details: espn.com/nba/story/_/id…

This is New York City. A pro-Hamas Palestinian supporter looks a Jew in the face and says he wants to murder him, his wife, and his children, because of what happened on October 7. When directly asked about the murder, rape, and slaughter of babies on that day, his cold, unhesitating answer is simply: "Yes." Evil is no longer hiding. It is walking openly in the streets of New York, completely unashamed. When someone openly justifies the rape and murder of babies and wants to repeat it against Jews today, this is not “protest.” This is genocidal hatred. And it’s happening in America.

The NBA’s officiating accountability process is broken. James Williams has now been at the center of controversy in two different playoff series in the span of days. Devin Booker called him out by name after Suns vs Thunder. The NBA later rescinded Booker’s technical, but still fined him $35K for criticizing officials. Then in Lakers vs Rockets, Williams was involved in multiple controversial ejections, including Deandre Ayton getting tossed on a flagrant 2 and Adou Thiero getting ejected late. LeBron called it ridiculous. JJ Redick said he didn’t get a real explanation. Marcus Smart called Ayton’s ejection “some BS.” Even Rockets players and Ime Udoka reportedly thought the calls were soft. And what does the NBA do? Players get fined publicly. Officials get reviewed privately. Adam Silver has literally said referees are held accountable, but the league does not publicize discipline for officials. That’s the problem. Fans see the fines. Fans see the rescinded techs. Fans see the Last Two Minute reports admitting missed calls. But nobody ever sees what actually happens to the officials. If players and coaches can be publicly punished for speaking out, officials should face more public accountability when they have rough games too. Accountability has to go both ways. #lakeshow

So. If you are in ANY emergency situation — let’s say you park in your driveway, & only as you begin taking your groceries from the car, you see movement in your home that is supposed to be empty. And a broken window. You cannot drive away to somewhere safer to get help. Your car refuses. You are at a traffic light. Suddenly someone is trying to get into your car (this has happened to me). You have a split second to accelerate & leave him in the dust. Your car shuts down power. The school calls. Your daughter has fainted. You cannot drive to the school to pick her up because your car notices your eyes are wide & you’re breathing fast. Your car now controls whether you live or die in an emergency situation. And those controls cannot be overridden.
Brian Allen@allenanalysis

Let me tell you about a law most Americans have never heard of. Eighteen months from now, every new car sold in the United States will come with technology that watches you drive. Infrared cameras tracking your eyes. Sensors measuring your pupil dilation. Software analyzing your head position. Software analyzing your behavior at the wheel. If the artificial intelligence in your car decides you are impaired, your car can refuse to start. Or limit your speed to 25 miles per hour. Or shut off entirely while you are driving. This is not a proposal. This is federal law. It applies to model year 2027. Here is the case for the law. 🧵

No matter where you stand politically, I think we can all come together and agree that putting spyware in our cars that watches what we do and can decide whether we’re even allowed to drive is a direct violation of our 4th amendment right and absolute tyranny.

Islamists just slaughtered Pastor Rev. Ayuba Choji, his wife Chundung, and their two young children — Cyril and Endurance — in Plateau State, Nigeria. An entire Christian family wiped out in their home. But sure… keep listening to the Woke Right and @Pontifex telling you “Islam is peaceful,” “it’s just a tiny minority,” and there’s nothing to worry about for Christians or the West. This is the same pattern destroying Christian communities across Nigeria — and spreading everywhere. Christianity is under attack.

Dün sınavda 10 yaşında bir öğrencim “Hocam tuvalete gidebilir miyim?” dedi. Koridorda sessizce “Şeker hastasıyım, ölçmem lazım” diye fısıldadı. Birlikte gittik. Şekerini ölçtü ve sonra “Su bulur musunuz hocam?” dedi. “Şekerin mi yüksek?” diye sordum, “Yok hocam, düştü” dedi.
