A pastor went to the dentist to get a set of false teeth.
The first Sunday after getting them, he preached for only eight minutes.
The second Sunday, he managed ten minutes.
But on the third Sunday, he preached nonstop for nearly three hours, until the congregation finally helped him sit down.
Concerned for his health, they asked, “Pastor, are you okay? What happened?”
The pastor explained,
“Well, the first Sunday, my gums were so sore I couldn’t preach longer than eight minutes.
The second Sunday, I was still adjusting, so I went ten minutes.
But today, I accidentally put in my wife’s teeth and I couldn’t shut up!”

The Japanese railway privatization of 1987 stands as one of the most devastating defeats ever dealt to statist transportation mythology. The government split the bloated Japan National Railways into seven regional companies, sold them off, and watched private ownership transform a bankruptcy-bound disaster into the world's most efficient rail system.
JNR hemorrhaged money for decades before privatization. By 1987, the state railway carried debt equivalent to $200 billion in today's money while delivering mediocre service plagued by strikes and inefficiency. Politicians treated it as a jobs program rather than a transportation service. The predictable result: chronic losses, deteriorating infrastructure, and customer service that reflected government monopoly arrogance.
Private ownership changed everything overnight. The new JR companies slashed operating costs by 40% within five years while dramatically improving service quality. JR East alone now generates annual profits exceeding $3 billion. These companies invest billions in cutting-edge technology, maintain punctuality rates above 99%, and operate the world's most advanced high-speed rail networks. They achieved this without a single yen of operational subsidies.
The transformation reveals a core dynamic of transportation infrastructure: private companies must satisfy customers to survive, while government monopolies need only satisfy politicians. JR companies diversified into real estate, retail, and hospitality around their stations, creating integrated profit centers that cross-subsidize rail operations. Government railways never innovate this way because bureaucrats face no market pressure to generate returns.
Meanwhile, Amtrak burns through $2 billion in annual subsidies while delivering third-world service across most routes, and European state railways require massive taxpayer bailouts every few years to stay solvent.

Russia has not attacked any EU member state. Ukraine is defending itself. We do not owe Ukraine anything. Our security is guaranteed by NATO, not Ukraine.

I wonder what ethnic Hungarians who are defending Ukraine make of this shameless claim. Ukraine is winning time for Europe, making sure that Russian tanks don’t roll European streets, like they did in 1956 in Budapest. Apparently, Russian awards and energy profits cause amnesia.
English

@sentdefender Why is it a problem for Russia which alliance Ukraine decides to join if it does not intend to attack it again. It's difficult to see Ukraine being forced to accept terms based on what Russia demands.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky offered to drop Ukraine’s aspirations of joining NATO as part of a peace agreement to end the ongoing invasion by Russia, during talks today’s in Berlin with U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, according to sources who spoke to Reuters.

@ilyaas440ilyaas @BrotherRasheed Your kind of heaven is just nauseating. Allah cannot defend himself, so he needs the likes of you to kill to achieve his purpose. It will mean that any other person in other faiths is just like a dog who should be killed at will.

A plan for unconditional surrender of Russia.
From a Swedish guy Peter PC Carlsson. This is how it should be.
The EU and Ukraine have secretly negotiated a 10-point peace agreement that Russia must now sign within 10 days, or the EU and the US will send all the weapons Ukraine requests.
1. Ukraine will regain all occupied territory, including Crimea. Russia must cede a one-mile buffer zone along the border with Ukraine and cede additional territory as war reparations.
2. Ukraine is offered military security guarantees from NATO and its forces will be immediately deployed around and in Ukraine.
3. Russia's military will be limited to a maximum of 300,000 soldiers under international supervision.
4. Ukraine will be given the full right to join NATO and receive permanent NATO bases and military support from the EU and the US.
5. All frozen Russian assets will be seized and used exclusively for the reconstruction of Ukraine, under the control of the EU and Ukraine. Furthermore, war reparations will be paid by Russia for all destroyed civilian property and infrastructure.
6. Ukraine is given a fast track to EU membership, including strong military and economic support from the EU and the US.
7. Russian war crimes must be investigated by international courts and those responsible brought to justice and sentenced.
8. Free, internationally monitored elections must be held in Russia to ensure democracy and accountability.
9. An international commission led by the EU and Ukraine will monitor humanitarian issues, prisoner exchanges and family reunification.
10. A legal peace body with the EU and Ukraine will ensure compliance with the agreement and activate sanctions and military support in case of Russian violation.
This plan calls for Russian withdrawal, limited military force, accountability for war crimes and democratic reforms, while Ukraine receives powerful security guarantees and integration opportunities with the EU and the US.

@front_ukrainian How can one ever progress with neighbours like this one? I wonder why he hasn't offered to be part of Russia yet. Not fit to be in the EU.
English

@elonmusk How can you tell Ukraine to reduce its army to 600k, when Putin's goal is to conquer the entire country. Why should we even appease Russia to start with? This isn't a peace deal!
English

@MVokrinek @IAPonomarenko 'A lot not visible' like a no fly zone or contributing troops or telling America can stay off and that Russia's attack is against Europe?? Europe is doing well but can be stronger and more bolder. My little submission.
English

@blessed_maxwell @IAPonomarenko Europe is doing kind of what they can. Europe is doing a lot even it is not visible. US has Patriot missiles... and that is what they have and Europe does not.

So basically, all that talk about “disappointment,” “deadlines,” and “sanctions” once again turned out to be empty chatter about nothing.
Trump isn’t going to do anything against the Kremlin, and never intended to.
It’s still easier for him to keep twisting Ukraine’s arms than to do something against Putin, whom he still admires like a silly fanboy.

Mahachanok mangoes are not commonly available in Aix-en-Provence due to their primary cultivation in Thailand and limited import to France. Local markets like Place Richelme or stores such as 5 Fruits Et Légumes may not stock them, but you could contact them to inquire about special orders. Online retailers like Jurassic Fruit offer exotic fruits, though Mahachanok availability is uncertain. International shipping from sites like Miami Fruit is unlikely to be feasible. Consider alternative mango varieties like Nam Doc Mai, which are more commonly imported.
