For days I have to see clients in the evenings I have a child minder, hang out with my kids. If I am being paid $600 for an hour, I can afford $35 an hour babysitting. Now, imagine a female Nigerian Doctor, with young children, who earns $300 A MONTH. Should she leave her children & do 60 hours of work/week, in gynaecology residency? The lofty dreams of many Female Doctors are dashed on the rocks of pragmatism. They have to do what they have to do, To balance work and life. Hence, they choose easier paths. Some even keep their degrees away. Because family comes first. Yes, we will all love to be seen only by female gynaecologists. Same way men would love to be seen only by male urologists or have only men do DRE. If wishes were horses, more female Drs would be Gynaecologists.

Yup. Or dangerously radicalised by internalising anger that isn’t yours.

I need you guys to actually be for real. Don’t let a few bad examples distract from a movement that changed history and continues to protect women today. A movement that made it possible for me and other women to gain an education and employment opportunities to empower ourselves. The purpose of feminism is simple: equal rights, equal opportunity, equal dignity for women everywhere. It exists to challenge systems that limit women’s choices, safety, autonomy, or advancement. It is a GOOD THING!

So many of the issues we face aren’t mysterious at all they’re the natural result of living in opposition to the principles God already laid out.
