Breakdown of the paper: The study investigates the role of the choroid plexus (ChP) in patients with post-COVID condition (PCC). The ChP is a structure inside the brain that produces cerebrospinal fluid and regulates the entry of immune cells into the brain. Previous research has suggested that the ChP may be affected by SARS-CoV-2 infection. The study found that PCC patients had enlarged ChP volume compared to healthy controls. This ChP enlargement was associated with cognitive dysfunction, reduced gray matter volume in frontal and subcortical areas, white matter integrity and diffusivity changes, and functional connectivity changes.
