No action for Charles Leclerc, yet Lewis Hamilton gets a five second penalty. That says everything you need to know about the FIA.

@C_Lordy91 @fia That’s horrible logic. A penalty is a penalty, regardless of what happens with the other car. Should be worsened if the other car didn’t finish

@fia Total sense as Russell retired. If both still in racing then nothing was warranted.

George Russell post-race: "The incident was a racing incident. Maybe I could have gone a bit wider, maybe he could have braked a bit more... "That incident shouldn't have happened if I had the speed down the straight."

BREAKING: Full City Council has approved $424 million TIF package for infrastructure improvements in "The 78," where the Chicago Fire are currently building their new home stadium.

@blobbylight89 @paschutz You say infrastructure handled like it’s an easy thing. It’s not, especially when it’s in a compromised suburban area. The bill to the taxpayers for AH would be steep with no revenue streams built in. Stadiums don’t make the public money. Keep simping for McCaskey though…

@Olive_Gordon_ @paschutz Now I know you’re a real 🤡 who doesn’t know what he’s talking about. The Bears have maintained that they will privately fund the ENTIRE stadium. They want infrastructure handled, same as any other massive business that wants to invest billions in the area.

@blobbylight89 @paschutz I agree. The Bears deserve a better owner who will just pay for the stadium and stop expecting handouts. (Also Soldier Field is financed through the Illinois Sports Facility Authority. So again, State, not City like TIF)

@Olive_Gordon_ @paschutz Be mad at the Bears? How silly man. The last time the city made a stadium deal, after 25 years they owe more than the original loan! Keep trusting CITY politics bro. The Bears deserve better.

@blobbylight89 @paschutz Because this is the CITY not the STATE. Jesus Christ man please research TIFs in Chicago and how they work. This is the city borrowing against themselves to raise the tax revenue of the district. It is incredibly different from the Bears situation. Be mad at the Bears here

@Olive_Gordon_ @paschutz If you think all this is going to play out so easily and make a ton of money (more than what the Bears would make) then just say you don’t know IL politics. The original point was why the Fire and not the Bears.

@blobbylight89 @paschutz They’re planning to sell the air rights above it and then every business there will generate taxes that go right back to the city. That’s why TIF is being used. If you don’t understand TIF/ municipal infrastructure financing just say it…

@Olive_Gordon_ @paschutz You’re talking about money for a parking garage? That’s how the city is gonna recoup $424m? Good luck. Also, the development the Bears are proposing would generate much more revenue than the Fire can. That’s simple econ.

@blobbylight89 @paschutz Correct on the valuations there, but key part you’re ignoring is the city OWNS much of this infrastructure the TIF goes to. In the Bears case they would not. This is money that the city is almost guaranteed to make back, that’s not the case in AH with the Bears. Easy econ here…

@justgreyyy13 @TheBearsShow Well 4k is so important to everyone. You’re clearly missing the point. You want to blame receivers for drops, but Caleb had way too many missed passes that would be easier to get him to 4k. I follow Ben Johnson, who said the dropped balls are part of the stat.

If Olamide Zaccheaus does anything but exist here, it’s an 85 yard house call and I never have to hear the words “you don’t have a 4,000 yard passer though” Fuck you, man.

@Olive_Gordon_ @paschutz You have to be joking… the bears asked for $900m infrastructure. the fire are worth $600m and the Bears are worth $10b. The fire are spending $700m and the Bears would be spending $3b-$4b. Nobody watches soccer, the entire city loves the Bears and would spend way more.

@blobbylight89 @paschutz There’s a substantial difference in what the Bears are asking for and this. This would support fully public infrastructure including a city owned garage and plaza which they can sell the air rights to generate additional revenues. This is an investment, the Bears were a hand out

@justgreyyy13 @TheBearsShow The only difference I see is how he gets there. You blame a receiver and I put blame on Caleb. But yes either way is achievable

@blobbylight89 @TheBearsShow Okay, so the point still stands that 4000 yards was achievable either way so this is redundant to argue, yes.

@justgreyyy13 @TheBearsShow The argument is to show the 30 clips of him missing wide open receivers, as opposed to the “one” that would have gotten him 4,000. It’s a silly argument

@blobbylight89 @TheBearsShow I just provided you a factual statistic that would have got him over 4000. What are you possibly trying to argue? I know his accuracy was spotty at times, but he’s young lol. Doesn’t change the fact he lost enough on drops for 4K

@justgreyyy13 @TheBearsShow Not even close. This is a false narrative. Ben said himself that the drops and throwaways are accounted for when he’s figuring all of that.

@blobbylight89 @TheBearsShow You clearly didn’t see HOW MANY drops there were then, cuz it might be up there with missed throws. There was 29 passes for over 400 yards.
