.@Truthcoin thinks his Bitcoin fork "eCash" will be a chaotic, but it won't last forever. "The network will be unusable until blocks are [found] between 30 and 3 minutes." "I think it will work out because Satoshi's design is very good."

Every single company needs to look deeply at their entire security life cycle, up and down the stack, to prepare for a post-quantum world.

.@Truthcoin is hard forking Bitcoin to create eCash. So we had him on the show to ask directly: Why in the world does he want do that? "Well you know I was a bitcoin maximalist. Basically my entire life until now. But really I have some concerns. And I think that competition is, you know, the cure for for all ills. And I think we've been complacent and overconfident for a long time." And he didn't mince words over how he feels about the current state of Bitcoin development 😳 "But other people, I think, really believe there's something magical about what Bitcoin Core is doing and that they're just really great developers, even though they haven't developed anything. 99.99% of the ideas came from Satoshi. "Instead we've just done new ideas that are that suck and are terrible, such as SegWit, Taproot, and Lightning Network, which have all been a complete waste of time and have derailed the whole growth of the industry.

.@Truthcoin thinks innovative bitcoin ideas should get huge payouts, not get shunned by the maxi crowd. "Right now, if you try to improve bitcoin, you go to @OPNEXT2026 and people write an article that says 'don't break Bitcoin.' But nothing happens. It's really miserable" "We have to change that so that the story more goes, that if you propose an idea for bitcoin that has some merit. . . you'll get millions of dollars."

.@MARA is leaning more aggressively into its AI/HPC strategy. The company just announced a $1.5B acquisition of Long Ridge Energy, a 505 MW natural gas plant and site on which MARA currently hosts 200 MW of bitcoin mining activity. Now, MARA plans to repurpose the site for AI/HPC loads, with an option to expand to 600 MW of capacity. MARA expects the deal to close next quarter and for construction to commence in the first half of 2027 with energization in mid-2028.

There's been plenty in the news about insider trading on prediction markets. But you don't need to be an insider to influence outcomes. One Frenchman proved that with a few hundred euros, a blow dryer, a brilliant (if illegal) idea, and some gumption. This man ventured onto the runway at the Charles de Gaulle airport and warmed a weather sensor to ensure his Polymarket bet on Paris' temperature high that day would hit. "It's interesting to think about these edge cases in which prediction markets can be tampered with. And people have gotten very creative at ways to rig them in their favor."

This week, Tether proposed a merger between XXI Capital, Strike, and Elektron for what would be the mother of all Bitcoin companies. "So if this merger comes to pass, you basically have this full stack bitcoin services company. You've got mining, you've got payments, [an exchange], capital markets, and you've got the Bitcoin treasury company." And Tether has the voting power, at least in the case of XXI Capital to make it happen. "As it stands right now, Tether has the voting power to make this a reality."

"I hate to spoil the party for everyone. It's a little bit of the same of what we've been seeing." Same. day, different grind for bitcoin miners. Per data from @luxor's @hashrateindex, profitability has improved somewhat with a recent difficulty adjustment and bitcoin's price rise, but it's still slim pickins out there. The good news: hashrate hasn't seen sticky growth for the last few months, but all of the abrupt changes in hashrate is leading to fluctuations in difficulty. "This is the craziest difficulty environment and the most volatility we've seen since the China mining ban."
