The BAU and fans will meet his character through a case — the trailer shows him in an interrogation room — and then it spirals from there. “We get to talk to him and he’s kind of a jerk and we’re like, ‘We feel like there’s something else going on with this guy.’ And we kept trying to connect him to this other mystery woman who’s played by Jessi Case. And we were like, OK, how are these two going to come into play for the bigger turn by the end of the season?” the showrunner Erica Messer explains. In building that out, “we kept escalating it. So, next thing you know, Connor Storrie’s getting drugged and thrown in the back of a trunk and then he’s getting tortured and all kinds of stuff ends up happening to him,” she continues. “And I just remember every time he was in a script, I’m like, ‘So sorry, so sorry.
