@ChrisSru880101 @OldDownbadians You could argue that. I’d probably suggest that development of players tends to start through youth clubs/schools into counties, regions and academy’s etc. Then youth rugby for countries etc.

@blondetupac @OldDownbadians You could argue. Scotland Developed Tom Jordan and DVDM. TJ came and played for the Ayrshire bulls. And Duhan came to Edinburgh after being released by Montpellier and failed a medical. Before that no one knew who he was.

@OldDownbadians They qualified on residency. The point is, every country does it. The Janse Van Rensburg one is the main example. England actively battled to get that verdict overturned.

Had a look at an England A team not featuring any of those in the full squad, rehabbing list or officially named as injured. (Reality is some would likely drop down or come back from injury before an A team was selected). Picked as a blend of next best option and ‘development’. But tried to go with realistic World Cup squad contenders rather than those that won’t be ready or are too far down Steve’s pecking order (even if they are great) to feature. Carpenter Calouri Northmore Maasi-White Hendy Atkinson Quirke Obano Oghre Fasogbon Bamber Batley Ilione Barbeary Pearson Muir, Hill. Roots, Harding, Kenningham & Searle particularly hard done to. Who else have I missed?
