@PatMcAfeeShow @borascorp The NFL gets it . By and large teams are all spending about the same . You can go from Worst to 1st with 1 or 2 good moves and you have the ability to keep generational talent if you draft it . The result is 32 rabid fan bases . Baseball has half its fan bases disinterested.

@zachkruse2 And the packers couldn’t spare a roster spot so they had Romeo Doubs return punts who was slightly more effective than a statue .

New Packers ST coordinator Cam Achord coached two first-team All-Pro punt returners during his time in New England -- Gunner Olszewski in 2020 and Marcus Jones in 2022.

@DanClarkSports I am pulling for the Dodgers to win again in 2026 so that it strengthens owners resolve to finally draw the hard line in the sand and get a Cap in place !

@RossUglem I would love to see it closer but if you take 2025 payroll and divide it by 30 its an average of $166,000,000 per team so a floor around 160 MIL and a Cap around 260-280 mil would result in a nice increase in overall money paid to players as a whole and at create more balance.

I don’t care about a salary cap and I’m a fan of baseball. I understand both parties but if you put a cap of $280M. That’s never going to fly with the players. How many teams are above that right now? And if you are in an uncapped world right now it’s hard to turn back the clock as player association so unless the owners were willing to remove arbitration I’m telling them to get fucked.

Early projections suggest a proposed salary cap will be around $260-$280 million, along with a floor of $140-$160 million, per @JonHeyman

@dodgersrpeit @tipping_pitches Th dodgers could still sign every player in their roster now with a cap assuming every player is willing to take a 50 percent pay cut if they wanna be in LA . Or if they want top $ they might have to spread out to other markets .

@tipping_pitches Bingo. People think that just because we have a cap that playing for the Marlins, Twins, Pirates, Rockies are just going to be appealing options over the Dodgers all of a sudden???

We have been saying this for years now: a cap gives the Dodgers a gigantic advantage. Not because of deferred money, but because they are better at almost everything else than every other team
Justin Turner@redturn2

Question for the “parity” people who are pro salary cap in #MLB. Do you implement the cap and then wait for all the (dodgers) deferrals to expire before you start seeing if the cap works for parity? Do you not think this gives them an even bigger advantage over the next 5-10 years?

@redturn2 I think for cap purposes every players cap hit should be the AAV of their deal. Defer the payments if you and the player agree but that shouldn't effect the cap. If the Dodgers are over the cap they will have to find some trading partners or make some cuts.

@phishphood44 @JustBB_Media @JonHeyman MLB spent 5 billion on salary in 2025 that averages to 166 mil per team. I would like to see a 166 floor and 250 cap. That would be beneficial for fans (spread superstars around ) and players(99% of them) as that 5 billion payroll to players would rise significantly.

@JustBB_Media @JonHeyman Players will never agree to that. Imagine some rich sheik during the strike decided he wanted to start his own baseball league in the USA without a salary cap. Wonder what the owners would do then

@RobDemovsky Glad he is gone but it’s pretty bizarre that they refused to fire him for poor performance of his units and even promoted him just for him to quit after every other team in need hired a ST coach. Something doesn’t seem right here .

Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said he was not expecting ST coordinator Rich Bisaccia to leave but said he had “other opportunities he wanted to look at.” Timing isn’t ideal but since they’re not competing with other teams to hire someone, Gutekunst said they can take their time.

Stephen A Smith says the NBA trying to ‘globalize’ their sport with more international players is really them just trying to ‘whitening’ it 👀 “David Stern to Adam Silver, these guys have supported these brothers, but America hasn’t always done so… if there were a bunch of Cooper Flagg running around, we wouldn’t be having this conversation, Dirk is from Germany, I’m talking about white American born. That’s a rarity in terms of superstar status in the US for the sport of basketball… KD is absolutely 1,000% right because of America had its druthers, it would rather not rely on the brothers. Even tho you market nba players who are brothers, it’s because you have no choice!” (Via @FirstTake)

@zachkruse2 Does the HC prioritize ST ? Is he willing to skip an offensive meeting or let his OC call plays so he can be the HC and help with our weakest link ? Nothing will change and I am confident of that because it’s been consistently bad for the entire MLF tenure .

Even if the Packers get a decent ST coordinator post-Bisaccia, improvement is only possible if... 1. The kicker makes kicks 2. The GM cares about every special teams phase Or else the cycle just continues
