@TaliaRinger I had this experience when I learned to fly airplanes. Sometimes, it is hard to focus at all, but when it really mattered, I was able to focus.

@schemeprincess @schemeprincess I really enjoyed this! As I read, and you referred to hw OS features moderating work on CPUs, I couldn't help but think "What is a CPU in this world?" App HW will also be changing and OS HW will need to worry about (e.g.) config. mgmt for CGRAs, using accels etc

TL;DR: Datacenters can’t afford to run software workloads on general-purpose CPUs. Every datacenter workload runs at such a large scale that hardware offload makes sense. But we must start with our core systems and figure out what new abstractions we need to bake into hardware.
