After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

@TravisTsunami @KylePlantEmoji Even my 12 year old daughter has had 2 rounds of physical therapy from actively training for 4 years lol what are you talking about. Being active almost guarantees injuries.

@KylePlantEmoji I played football and baseball. 90% of the people I played with don’t have any issues. I can throw anecdotal evidence around too, but it’s a terribly way to get your point across

Being in your thirties is fun because you might not have The Problem yet, but you have a pretty good feeling about what The Problem is going to be

Really dawned on me teaching today that half of my students actually just don’t know how to read

@onapittance My daughter saw that Dog Man font and was basically like “wtf am I even looking at? I can’t read this?”. Anyways like I said, we’ve created an environment that’s made reading really f$ckin weird and hard for no reason. And now no one can read.

@onapittance Last thing: my daughter’s dyslexia tutor taught her how to write/read cursive bc physically connecting the letters helps her blend sounds. It’s also easy for ppl with dyslexia to see the word as a whole, not separate characters. But Dog Man books were all over her school

@onapittance Not really sure what my point is lol. But I think we’ve created an environment where its hard to read. The light from laptops, the fact that the screen is upright so you’re distracted by surroundings instead of head down in a book. All these weird ass fonts used on worksheets etc

@onapittance My 6th grader: super dyslexic. She hates reading on the comp. I think there’s something about the pixels/light that distort text. My 2nd grader: fantastic reader. I got her a Nancy Drew book. She said “I love these books bc the pages are cream and not white, way easier to see”

Letter from Lee Rogers, Chief of Podiatry at the University of Texas Health San Antonio. Says measles outbreak at Dilley "has the potential to quickly overwhelm local health resources." Demands establishment of "public health incident command immediately" at Dilley. 1/2

@littlebillie @nippyforever @joepohlen @nkhare A morning nanny is a *convenience*, a luxury. There’s a reason hotel maids are paid less per hour than any housekeeper you hire to clean your home. It’s an optional, premium service. Oil companies hire criminals and felons with GEDs to work on their fields.

@littlebillie @nippyforever @joepohlen @nkhare Is this supposed to be some kind of “gotcha”? On top of that hourly rate, oil field workers receive medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance. For remote areas they get onsite housing and meals. Paid vacation time, bonuses. 401ks and pension plans.

Morning nanny has been a game changer for us. We hired someone who comes over for two hours each morning. They empty the dishwasher, feed the pets, let the dog out, make the kid’s lunch, set up breakfast, and turn on the coffee maker. $350 a week.

@littlebillie @nippyforever @joepohlen @nkhare You’re definitely from a state with a small population and a small economy. The United States is a big country babe. $35/hour might sound outrageous to you, but for some of us that’s a reasonable rate for that level of convenience. Have a great 2026! ✌🏼

@nippyforever @littlebillie @joepohlen @nkhare Of course they have responsibilities. I just don’t think 2nd graders that have to wake up before the sun to get to school on time should also have to cook their own breakfast :)

@littlebillie @joepohlen @nkhare “emptying a dishwasher” lol It’s the cost of trusting your kid is safe w/ the person watching them, cooking for them, driving them to school. And on top of that, taking care of your dog and doing housekeeping. It’s the cost of convenience and peace of mind.
