When Trump and Hegseth say that Russia’s war against #Ukraine wouldn’t have happened if Trump were president, does it mean what I think it means? That Trump would have allowed Russia to invade Ukraine, and instead of helping Ukraine, as President Biden did, Trump would have sided with Russia from day one, as he does now? Because Trump could not have stopped Russia from attacking.

@MelissaRLeach @UkrReview Because trumps " peace deals" were only designed to gain favour with his mentor and role model, putin. Trump despises Zelenskyys courage and strength and only sees Ukraine as an inconvenience to be disposed of asap so he can do deals with the corrupt ruzzian regime.

@UkrReview How come Zelensky rejected all of Trump's peace deals? Didn't they include enough US tax dollars for his oligarchs and the UK/EU welfare programmes? Be honest.

🇺🇦🇬🇧 Zelensky: I thank His Majesty King Charles III, the UK, and all valiant American hearts for this clarion call for unity in support of Ukraine across the Atlantic. This is exactly what is needed to bring dignified and lasting peace to Ukraine and all of Europe. The people of Ukraine deeply appreciate all the support provided by the UK and the US. Thank you.

@chikkafritz @1_Military_man @donkoclock Biden had some semi competent people in his Cabinet, Trump has none. He has wrecked the image of the U.S. in the rest of the world. . .you are not envied, admired or respected but you seem ok with that. I guess it hard to admit you support a president who is a total failure.

Simple Yes or No. The White House Correspondents dinner was a staged media event.

@Sean_in_Kyiv @hanesyddiaeth @ChrisO_wiki You criticise Biden but fail to mention the imbecile Trump and his pathetic administration who despise Ukraine and Pres. Zelinskyy but bend over backwards to please putin. Your own country is in a far bigger mess than Europe.

@hanesyddiaeth @ChrisO_wiki Not happy with overall Western support for Ukraine. Biden’s was shit, and Europe’s is the worst since they want endless war as long as they don’t have to face russia directly

One interesting thing I've noticed about this is that far-right Americans and far-right Brits are now directly attacking each other on social media. The sneering attitude that many MAGA supporters often adopt is now being used against the British far right, and they *hate* it.

1/ Today's British newspaper headlines show a unified wall of outrage against Donald Trump, across the political spectrum. It's a sign of how a reported plan to punish the UK by 'reassessing the status of the Falkland Islands' has crossed a line that's redder than red. ⬇️

Britain just told Washington to get lost. After reports emerged that the US is considering withdrawing support for UK sovereignty over the Falklands, Downing Street didn’t hesitate: “It’s longstanding, it’s unchanged. Sovereignty rests with the UK and self-determination is paramount.” That’s a no. Delivered without drama. Without apology. The Americans are learning something this year. European allies have backbones. Byline: Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

@Microinteracti1 When ruzzians fighting in Ukraine end their own lives it has become known as " Putins last kiss". Perhaps an endorsement from Trump to the losers he supports will be known as " Trumps fatal embrace".

Tonight, Hungary Told Viktor Orbán to Get in the Bin 🗑️ Let’s be clear about what just happened. A man who spent sixteen years turning Hungary into his personal theme park of grievance, corruption, and performative Christianity has been thrown out by his own people. Not squeaked out. Thrown. Magyar’s Tisza party is on course to win 68% of parliamentary seats to Orbán’s 29%. That is not a defeat. That is a Viking funeral. Orbán called it “painful.” Yes, Viktor. Sixteen years of running a country like your own personal fiefdom tends to end painfully. Who could possibly have seen this coming, apart from everyone? The truly magnificent part of this story is the supporting cast of losers. Trump personally intervened in the final days of the campaign, promising to use “the full economic might” of the United States to strengthen Hungary’s economy if Orbán won. He sent JD Vance to Budapest to rally the troops. Vance flew to Hungary. To campaign. And still lost. That is commitment to failure on a scale that deserves its own Wikipedia category. Meanwhile in Moscow, Putin has just watched one of his his last useful idiot (Fico next) inside the European Union get evicted by the voters. Orbán’s own government had been sharing the contents of EU meetings with Moscow and coordinating to undermine European sanctions on Russia. Not alleged. Recorded. And the Hungarians voted him out anyway, with the highest turnout in Hungary’s post-Communist history. So here is where we stand. Trump’s model of governance rejected in Hungary. Putin stripped of his last EU anchor. The dominoes are falling, and they are falling in the right direction. Next up: the 2026 US midterms. If the pattern holds, and it tends to, the House flips and the lame duck hunting season opens. At that point, Trump becomes a man shouting into a phone that nobody is answering, signing executive orders that federal courts are using as kindling, and watching his own party quietly update their LinkedIn profiles. When that happens, only one member of this particular trio of authoritarians will still be standing. And Putin, at this point, is less standing than slowly pickling in his own paranoia inside a Kremlin that looks more like a bunker every week. Orbán is out. Vance went to Budapest and came home with nothing but a bad photo op. The strongman era is not ending with a bang. It is ending with Orbán telling supporters he will “serve from opposition,” which is the political equivalent of saying you are very much enjoying your involuntary retirement. Goodnight, Viktor. The bin was waiting. Stay connected, Follow Gandalv @Microinteracti1

@MaryKostakidis @barry0hmy Someone please explain why Trump has now ordered a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz? You would think any normal sane person would stop digging given how bad he and Netanyahu have screwed up the Iran conflict! Buffoons.

The Surrender Summit: Trump Sends His Son-in-Law to Lose a War ‘Vance brought his wife. Not a deputy secretary. Not a general. Not even a halfway competent mid-level State Department lifer who at least knows what the Strait of Hormuz is on a map. He brought Usha. His wife. To a war negotiation. The most consequential diplomatic moment since the end of the Cold War and JD thought, yeah, I’ll make a long weekend of it, bring the missus, see Pakistan. Pakistan received the Iranians with their Foreign Minister, their Army Chief, their National Assembly Speaker, and their Interior Minister all standing on the tarmac in full ceremonial dress. America sent the guy who wrote a book about how sad it is to be from Ohio. And then there’s Jared Kushner. Jared fucking Kushner. A man whose entire qualification for any of this is that he married into the right family, which, by the way, is also his business model, his foreign policy experience, and apparently now his military strategy. Jared has the energy of a guy who’s never been told no in his life because everyone around him was either paid not to or too scared to. He walked into the Middle East peace process last time and achieved absolutely nothing except making himself several hundred million dollars richer. So naturally Donald called him again. Jared Kushner at peace talks is like bringing your plumber to do brain surgery because he’s good with pipes and you trust him.’ ifloz.substack.com/p/the-surrende…

Those “Can you see me?” posts have always annoyed me. Over the past two weeks, the algo on this platform has gotten even worse - apparently targeting our bubble specifically - and the decline has been drastic. So I’d like to ask: who can see me? A ❤️ as answer would be enough.
