@MichaelRosenYes @susie_dent @hayfestival I read the word "careline" (as in "customer careline" on the side of a chocolate bar) as some sort of a name, like Caroline or Coraline. I had been watching a lot of Narcos at the time and in my head assumed it must have been a Spanish name. 🫠

@susie_dent @hayfestival I've just remembered that the first time I saw the word 'miniseries', I didn't read it as 'mini-series', I read it to the rhythm of 'deliveries' - 'min-ISS-eriz'.

Thank you to the lovely audience member at @hayfestival who shared that her daughter had once corrected her pronunciation of ‘epiphany’ and told her it should of course be ‘epi-fanny’. Which word have you royally mispronounced because you’d only ever seen it written down?
