For two decades, hotels depended on OTAs to be found. Travelers searched, marketplaces answered, and hotels paid for it: 15-30% per booking, often more with promotional placements.
That dependency is about to be tested again, faster this time. >70% of travelers expect AI to influence at least half of what they spend on hotels and flights this year. ~30% would let an AI agent make the final call. Almost no hotels have AI agents that can actually complete a booking.
That gap is the opportunity, and the risk. If AI agents can't find you, or your stack isn't built to work with them, the booking goes to whoever they find instead.
