The Erlang VM has all these incredible things. Did you know you can boot a `:peer` node as a VM within the VM, fully meshed? Enter `FlyDeploy.BlueGreen` - "hot bluegreen" deploys where we spin up the new incoming VM, then cutover seamlessly: before/after code changes:

@elonmusk AI assistants should be programmed to be unbiased, imo. They should focus on only sharing real life facts and science-based logic.

@i0n1c Due to my MacBook Air M1, I bought the Anker Prime Dock (yes, DisplayLink), but it works great. The downside is “only” 160 W total charging, and it has a fan (barely audible).

I ended up buying the CalDigit dock for my MacBook from Apple. For a few days it seemed like best thing in the world but now the Ethernet it provides is super unstable. It keeps disconnecting and sometimes does not want to connect at all. Is that normal or did I get a broken one

@thdxr It’s a way to convince your boss to allocate time for socializing, especially with a distributed/remote team — the hackathon outcome will be team building.

@gael_elan101 exact - the only thing is you need to get your head around the sigv4 for plain HTTP request, but once implemented it is easy

@bmalum True, for simple tasks direct HTTP calls can be enough; SDKs help when you need more functionality.

> AWS SDKs (Software Development Kits) AWS SDKs make building apps with AWS way easier. Instead of writing low-level API calls, developers use simple SDK functions to interact with services like S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, EC2, and more. AWS provides SDKs for major languages including: > Python (boto3) > JavaScript / Node.js > Java > Go > .NET > PHP > Ruby > C++ But that’s not all, AWS also supports: > 📱 Mobile SDKs for iOS, Android, Unity, Xamarin > ⚡ AWS Amplify for building full mobile + web apps with auth, analytics, storage, and offline sync > 🌍 IoT SDKs for embedded devices (Arduino, sensors, microcontrollers) SDKs simplify authentication, error handling, retries, serialisation, and connections so developers can focus on building, not plumbing. > In the next post: Amazon CloudWatch

@DRo_604 I haven’t seen any updates on the Runtime API for custom runtimes, any plans that we can write our own custom runtime and use checkpoints? And is the checkpoint API not part of the Runtime API but std. Lambda HTTP API?

@DRo_604 @d_kazmirski I see people timing it to hand over execution to the “next step” gaining another 15mins

@d_kazmirski So a durable execution could consist of multiple 15 minute executions.
