Mike Flanagan’s run of shows for Netflix will go down in history as one of the all time greatest runs in the history of the genre. They've been keeping Netflix afloat as a respected home for original horror and I'm curious to see what they do without him. Irreplaceable talent.

Counter-Strike is definitively the greatest first person shooter ever. Doom, Quake, and Unreal got us started, Halo and Call of Duty brought in a new generation, TF2 and OW mixed things up, and battle royales innovated the genre. but only CS has reigned as king for over 25 years

@myztrovengeur @Quake Difficulty is clearly an issue, but a lack of onboarding also hurts the game. I told someone that you could shorten your jump off of a jump pad by holding C at the ledge, and this made them upset. "Why wasn't there a feature in the game (somewhere) that told them about that?"

Last night I downloaded Quake III Arena on Steam. I always looked back at it as my favorite Id game, but it had been many years since I had actually played it. There are a few polish things that I would nitpick today, but it was like dropping a quarter in a classic arcade game. I played through the first couple tiers against the bots with a smile on my face. Yeah, I’m still proud of this game. It is laudable that the PC ecosystem lets you easily go play a game from 1999 and everything Just Works.
