@PNemiroff Incredible words from Jamie Lee Curtis. And she's right. At a time when journalists are being replaced by influencers and the field is giving itself a pretty poor reputation, your work has really been standing out. And I see people enjoying it all the time. So bravo for that.

Had to give this its own post. Excuse me while I ramble … Been thinking a lot about what Jamie Lee Curtis asked - what does it mean to me to be respected in my line of work? Honestly? I’m shocked I was able to keep it together on the spot to give a coherent response that I actually feel pretty good about but now that I’ve had more time to sit with it - being respected means everything because I know the work I’m putting out is truly me. It took me time to find my voice in this space and to pinpoint what I wanted to bring to it. When I found it, I didn’t let it go. There’s endless pressure nudging journalists in one direction or another, and yes, we all have to evolve and adapt a bit, but when I figured out the key values that were guiding my compass most, those became a non-negotiable guiding light. So the idea of being respected really does mean the world because I’m just being myself, doing work I genuinely love and take great pride in.

@FreddyInSpace Okay....how weird is it that I was JUST listening to "Two Steps Behind" by Def Leppard when I saw this tweet and that song is on the soundtrack. 🤣🤣

Related Fun Fact: LAST ACTION HERO was the first movie to be advertised on a rocket shot into space. The rocket was allegedly going to orbit the earth for two years, "conducting microgravity experiments." The movie flopped. The rocket ended up launching after it came out.

‘PROJECT HAIL MARY’ has become the first ever film to premiere in the stratosphere. A bespoke IMAX display was sent into space that played footage from the film.

I had the thought that it's cool we're getting a sequel to Ready or Not so soon after the first one but then I looked it up and realized Ready or Not came out SEVEN YEARS AGO. Pre-pandemic! The temporal disintegration is real.

@CapitalF I think usually in most cases 10 things are true at once but social media only allows for one thing to be true at once and that's why we're always fighting all the time.

Casey “War Path” available on Prime/Tubi!!
@FreddyInSpace I think a lot of posters take a side when both sides can be right. The execs can be idiots but the pilot may not have been that good and didn’t test well to the point where it’d cost too much money to keep working it. Better to shelve it than put out a bad reboot

We'll clearly be conspiracy theorizing about the failure of Buffy reboot for many years but the very likely reality is they made a not-great pilot (happens all the time) and it wasn't worth spending & taking forever to try to salvage it. Not uncommon. Rarely this high profile.

@BlackMajikMan90 Why is it sad that one of the biggest properties on the planet is breaking trailer viewership records, lol. Of course it is!

"It's the wrong business if you don't like taking risk." I think once Hollywood moves beyond this current stage, we'll see a new boom for smaller, original movies & attendance will skyrocket. "I'd love to see people under 30 get to have a camera in their hand & be left alone."

Reading Ashley Cullins' book Your Favorite Scary Movie and everyone that shares memories of working with Wes Craven imparts some version of "he was the most kind, thoughtful, wonderful person." It's all I've ever heard about Craven. Hard to believe he's been gone 11 years now.

@halloween I have to imagine they will eventually try again. Seems like a no brainer to bring back Buffy in some capacity.

@FreddyInSpace And, if we've learned anything, we also know it doesn't necessarily mean it's the end of the line. Might come back with a different showrunner and funding at some point.

@FreddyInSpace Why is "Black Swan" considered a horror movie? Even "Misery" being called horror is a bit of a stretch. Those are more "psychological thrillers."
