"Husbands, Love your wives as Christ loved the Church." (Eph 5:25) I think about this passage often. Though I am single at the moment, I often contemplate what kind of man I need to be for the family I hope to have someday. 🧵

@ScCoast @dogwoodblooms Also, check the last name. If you think I’m spending a dime in Greenville, SC you don’t know anything about your state.

@DLCampanile So the CO sends 100 soldiers over the berm. Another firefight… “One American Marine is better than 1000 Iraqi soldiers!” The CO is incensed, and he sends 1000 of his men over the berm. One comes back… “Don’t send any more! There’s TWO of them!”

@DLCampanile Cue the classic joke: An Iraqi army unit was marching through the desert when they heard, “one American marine is better than a dozen Iraqi soldiers.” Angered, the CO sends a dozen troops over the berm… firefight takes place. “One American marine is better than 100 Iraqis!”

Secretary Hegseth says Iran's navy is no longer a factor. “And to borrow a page from Admiral Ernest King in World War II, we’ve decided to share the ocean with Iran,” Hegseth said. “We’ve given them the bottom half.”

@CyborgPeds From a financial advisor perspective: There are pros/cons to both individual and joint accounts and neither one is more correct than the other.

Yes, not having a joint account means our decades long marriage through a lot of thick and thin, five kids, and two grandkids is actually just us being “roommates.” Got it.

Let’s see people make fun of Ohio now. This what we’re bring to the table folks. We’re playing a whole different game over here.
Count Dankula@CountDankulaTV

The Afroman Trial. -Cops raid Afromans house for bullshit reasons. -Steal money, break his door, fuck his house up. -No criminality found whatsoever, no charges at all pressed on Afroman. -Afroman spends the next 3 years making songs that make fun of all the officers involved by name, even using footage of the raid from his own CCTV cameras. -Songs had titles like "Randy Walters is a son of a bitch" and "Lick Em Low Lisa" accusing one of the officers of being a lesbian and sleeping with the other officers wives. -During the raid one officer looked like he was about to eat some lemon pound cake sitting on Afromans counter, Afroman made a whole album calling the officer fat. -The cops get mad and file a lawsuit for defamation. -Afroman turns up to court in a whole American flag suit. -Officers performatively mald and cry while listening to the songs really trying to oversell how badly the songs upset them. -One officer was suing because Afroman made a whole song about him saying he was fucking the officers wife. When the officer was asked if Afroman was really fucking his wife, he said "I don't know". Nuking his own case and establishing that there is a non-zero chance that Afroman might actually be fucking his wife. -As his only witness for the trial, Afroman brought a deputies EX FUCKING WIFE. -The jury ruled completely in favour of Afroman. This entire thing has been a great win for free speech and absolutely fucking hilarious.

@zenner31 @TyDunne Truthfully, I think it would make very little difference. Anecdotally, as a youth/adult rec hockey ref, all the videos and reading in the world barely move the needle. It’s actually doing the games that help me improve my positioning and train my eye.

@veespike @awstar11 There’s probably still some in the armory building at the University of Minnesota. We used to use them for Close-Order Drill and Color Guard.

@zenner31 @TyDunne Explain in detail how any of those calls change if a part-time ref making $250k (or more) is suddenly a full-time ref?

With how much money is literally on the line (bets) and figuratively (wins, legacy) you would think this would be a no brainer. As players you never leave it in the refs hands. If you do, that's on you (the team). But still there are sooo many like these: Decker "didn't" report Lions Cowboys 2023 2 pt. Conversion. NOLA No Call in 2018 NFC championship game. 2015 rookie year at Seahawks - KJ wright bats fumble of back of end zone.

@TyDunne It's not a full time job. One day per week, 6 months out of the year. You can call them full time if you want, give them benefits too, but there isn't a full time work load. They'll spend most of their time sitting in a chair scrolling their phones.

@SNAFU_Sara Once upon a time you used to be able to make these requests when booking. In fact, you HAD TO in order for them to be honored because it was much more difficult to swap out the meals/snacks.

The amount of entitlement of people saying “she should just not fly”. I never thought of food allergies until my son had them. But imagine a situation where your parent is dying and you need to get to them quickly, but you can’t fly because Karen can’t go 4 hours without nuts. It’s absolute self centered entitlement. You can go a few hours without nuts for someone’s life.
Tony Lane 🇺🇸@TonyLaneNV

THIS IS WILD… Passenger says United denied a simple request that could literally save their life. Severe peanut allergy. One exposure = possible fatal reaction. All they asked for? A small buffer zone on the plane. Instead… they were told to basically deal with it and “email the company.” On a packed flight where people are eating inches away… That’s not a minor issue. That’s life or death. Do airlines have a responsibility here… or is this asking too much? ⬇️ 🇺🇸

@BadTheoloTakes @emzanotti No, it is not in the US. The only obligations are: - Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God (1/1) - Assumption (8/15) - All Saints (11/1) - Immaculate Conception (12/8) - Nativity of the Lord (12/25)
