Correct. You don’t end a 65+ year lineage to Dean Smith to hire Iowa’s first-year HC or somebody who has never seen the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament. You would’ve been better off keeping Hubert Davis in that instance.

Otzelberger, who has never gone to a final four turned down Carolina. Lloyd, the coach of a program going to their first final four in 25 years turned down Carolina. Kentucky dealt with the same rejection last year. It’s not about being a blue blood, it’s about being comfortable.
