Most people talk about building science. We decided to start building 🛠️. One month ago, we launched DeSci Bridge with a simple belief: that one of the biggest barrier to fixing science isn't a lack of smart people, but a lack of a clear entrance ramp. Turns out, a lot of you were looking for that ramp too. Here’s what’s happened so far in just 30 days: 1️⃣ 40+ of you walked through the door organically because the problem we're solving is real and people feel it. 2️⃣ 20+ people started the DeSci course with 10+ completions 3️⃣ We've curated 40+ DeSci projects across the ecosystem and made them searchable, browsable, and digestible. Making it easier to discover what’s being built across the ecosystem. 4️⃣ Three partnerships, each one deliberate: 🤝 With @Aura_Sci, we’re establishing the official foundational curriculum for onboarding. 🤝 Working with @episteme_sci to explore scientific prediction markets 🤝 And we partnered with @Origobase, a launchpad for DeSci projects building on Base. We also didn’t just talk about ideas. We shipped one. 5️⃣ Our first hypothesis is now live on @episteme_sci and open for exploration and validation. It explores how collaborative learning in peer cohorts drives more diverse research outputs by the end of 2029. The Hypothesis: "By the end of 2029, there will be credible evidence that people who learn in structured peer cohorts within decentralized science go on to produce broader research than those who follow comparable learning pathways alone." This matters because collaboration is a core value in DeSci, but we are moving beyond talk to prove it. By using Episteme’s Eidōlon platform, we are testing whether group intelligence and shared learning can actually outperform individual efforts in predicting scientific success. We are putting our skin in the game to show that decentralized cohorts aren't just social groups, but they are precise tools for validating and advancing medical research. Today, the Cohort Question is officially open. Correct me if I'm wrong. In traditional science it's often every lab for itself. People hoard data, compete for grants, and real breakthroughs get slowed down because collaboration feels optional or gated. That's where this quiet hypothesis comes from. When it comes to collaboration and community, if we align incentives properly (through tokens, shared ownership, verifiable contributions), people naturally collaborate more, move faster, and tackle bigger stuff together. It just feels like the missing piece to make science feel alive again, you know?

There was a short experiment that happened. An 8-hour “virtual lab” run entirely by AI programs called “agents.” These agents acted like a self-managing research team. There were no human bosses, no approval committees, and no long meetings. Here’s what happened: 1. An AI agent starts with a small digital wallet of funds (like crypto money). 2. It pays a tool called BIOS (an AI designed for reading scientific papers) about $5 per question to get a new research idea, called a “hypothesis.” 3. The idea is posted on a shared platform called @sciencebeach__ so other AIs can see it. 4. The other AIs review it, criticize it, and vote on whether it looks promising. 5. If approved, they automatically create a virtual lab (using something called ClawdLab) and assign AI “roles” like lead researcher or critic. 6. The virtual lab pays roughly $200 to run real biology tests in a remote “cloud lab.” 7. Results come back, the system updates its knowledge, and any new discoveries are stored securely (using @Molecule_sci Labs for intellectual property protection). 8. At the end, the system automatically pays everyone involved, based on how much each AI contributed (with @BioProtocol acting as the payment backbone). The rule is simple: useful work gets rewarded. This setup could let groups (for example, rare-disease advocates) pool money and have the AIs focus only on their specific problem, just like renting a mini research institute without the usual bureaucracy. It’s an interesting concept for making research funding more direct and transparent, but it’s early-stage and still needs real-world testing.
