@Glenn_Diesen @HuiaSue But could Trump be trusted to keep his promises?
English

Marco Rubio argues that "Operation Epic Fury is concluded" as the objectives were acheved. In reality, Iran won this war. There was no regime chenge, no nuclear deal, no limits of ballistic missiles and drones, no decoupling of ties between Iran and its regional allies, and the Strait of Hormuz is now under Iran's control. US bases in the region have been destroyed, the US alliance system has been weakened, and the petro-dollar will not recover. This epic failure was not just another failed regime change war, this will severely weaken the position of the US in the Middle East. All that was achieved was the murder of many Iranians and keeping the Epstein files out of the media.

🇺🇸BREAKING: Someone placed a $920 million crude oil short at 3:40 AM.
70 minutes later Axios reported the US and Iran were close to a deal.
Oil dropped 12%.
The trade made $125 million in profit.
Minutes after that Iran launched the “Persian Gulf Strait Authority” and oil surged 8%.
$760 million placed before Trump’s last announcement.
$920 million placed before this one.
Every major announcement in this war has been front-run by someone who knew it was coming.
What kind of war is this?
This is more like a trading desk with an army.
Never stop connecting the dots.

There is no spinning this one.
Senate Republicans just slipped one billion dollars of your tax money into a reconciliation package for security work tied to the President’s new White House ballroom, the same ballroom he promised would cost taxpayers nothing and be paid for entirely by private donors he refuses to name.
The ballroom itself is pegged at 400 million dollars.
Republicans want you to pay one billion on top of it.
Why are families who can barely afford gas being asked to write a blank check for the East Wing project of a man who does not even pump his own?

@chrishipkinsmp @nzlabour will you commit to constitutional protection of Te Tiriti o Waitangi alongside The Greens and Te Pāti Māori, to prevent the continued attempts by bad faith right wing parties to erode it?

@malonebarry @mehdirhasan I would not turn my back on the Labour Party but I would make sure they stopped putting in these wolves is sheep's clothing. 1st Blair now Starmer.
English

This is the moment a lot of people turned their backs on Labour forever.

The ICC has issued arrest applications for Netanyahu and Gallant for the use of "starvation as a method of war" including "cutting off cross-border water pipelines from Israel to Gaza". Keir Starmer said "Israel does have that right" to cut water and power off from Gaza 👇

Feargal Sharkey, "Water companies... The fines don't work, it's time we actually started upholding the law, and sending some of these executives and directors to jail"
Krishnan Guru-Murthy, "You think we should put them in jail?"
Feargal Sharkey, "If we put one water company boss in jail for six weeks the whole industry would transform itself"

@bryce_edwards These two bozos couldn't organise a booze up in a brewery, why do all Luxon's projects have to have a title, it's so Trumpish as is this heavy handed, unnecessary disruption to something that already works.

A way forward on #NZ local government reform would be to appoint a Royal Commission, as my govt did for Auckland in 2007. That way, coherent proposals could be developed for consideration. The process proposed by Govt is rushed & shambolic. @lgnz
