@Kwame09 @Turbinetraveler Oh yea, thats so easy! Why not redesign the road if you’re worried abt it. And why just that runway? Almost every airport lands low over low over a highway - that wasnt there when the airport was built, right?

This whole area into Runway 29 at Newark Liberty Airport desperately needs a redesign. This is Air Canada B787 Flight AC548 from Vancouver slightly missing that truck!

@BLackgold_5 Once your aircraft has ground effect lift, no wind shesr can do much except make for a rough landing! And did we determine where this was at! Wind shear is usually in the south and during summer months. In all modern aircraft are equipped with wind shear, warning

Peter is a great pilot! Of course everyone who entered the program was a great pilot already. But a great Habu pilot spent the extra time learning all the systems of the aircraft! Which meant interfacing with the maintainers! Also, peters was very humble, and you hardly knew he was a great Pilot. Except he hardly ever had any issues! He was a real friend of maintainers!

Written by Dave Peters SR-71 Pilot We had some gimmicks we used to make fuel. Each plane was different but the techniques were very close. As soon as we started the climb away from the tanker I would select tank two manually and even sometimes go to manual aft transfer to get the CG aft as soon as possible. After level off at Mach 3 I would get the CG situated where the trim was at zero for a slight cruise climb thus eliminating induced drag. Next I would have the aft doors in A position and manipulate the speed to close the forward doors as much as by possible without creating an unstart. This might be anywhere from 3.0 to maybe as high as 3.04 or 5. ‘Much of this was dependent on outside temperature. If it was colder than standard you could do even better. Hotter than standard not so good but always better than the plan. Using these techniques and a few more I would often see fuel flows below 3600 lbs/hr/per engine at Mach 3. Ed and I rarely came back from a mission with less than 5,000 lbs more fuel than the flight plan called for. There are a lot of those things involved. Flying the SR required a great deal of stick and rudder abilities under some circumstances but I always told people it was primarily a cerebral machine. You had to have very deep understanding of how it worked to get the job done Peters concludes; ‘I have said many times before, much to the contrary of the engineers that DAFICS [digital automatic flight and inlet control system] really screwed up what the airplane was capable of just like everything we seem to do anymore it took the skill and knowledge of the operator pretty much out of the equation. But that is another discussion.’

@Habubrats71 Absolutely correct details! I knew John open. He was a good one! TEB Someone tanks were also innerted, and pressurized the TEB tanks on the engine, with LN2.

What is the green flash behind the SR-71? What a beautiful GREEN 🟢 color This beautiful color occurs when the JP-7 fuel and the TEB come together with oxygen. Anyone watching an engine start from behind the aircraft could see the telltale green flash of the TEB exploding, igniting the engine. ‘Each time a throttle was lifted and moved forward into the afterburner range, another metered shot of TEB would light the AB fuel. 16 shots (per engine) of TEB were held in every SR 71 for a flight. There was never a time when they ran out of TEB and had to land. This picture was taken with John Olp on his camera.#SR-71 #aviationlovers I was recently asked what the plan was if you ran out of the 16 shots of TEB. TEB was required every time you started the engine or the afterburners, kicked the tires, or lit up the engines. In the 24 years the SR-71 flew, it never ran out of TEB, but there was a plan just in case. John Olp, an SR-71 Mechanic from 1975-1985 at Beale AFB, explains; ‘The J58 engine had a unique way of lighting the afterburners if TEB wasn’t available. ‘Inserted into three rings of the flame holders were six catalytic igniters. If TEB wasn’t available, the engines could be manually over-trimmed to increase the exhaust temperature and superheat the ignitors. When the throttles were advanced into afterburner, the glowing catalytic ignitors would light off the fuel, albeit somewhat harshly! Thank you, John Linda Sheffield

CNN just reported it: Pete Hegseth is DEMOTING Sen. Mark Kelly and slashing his retirement pay over his ‘illegal orders’ video. Accountability hits different when it’s a retired Navy Captain turned politician undermining the chain of command. No more sacred cows. Thumbs up if you back Hegseth on this 👇🇺🇸

Steven Anderson: "You know, I've done a lot of hard things in my life, but getting saved wasn't one of them. Getting saved is the easiest thing I ever did!" Mr. Anderson is a KJV-only preacher of easy-believism. He believes that all a person has to do to be saved is simply to make a profession of faith. It doesn’t matter how superficial or insincere that profession is. No repentance or contrition is required—just a simple profession of faith is enough, even if the person isn't genuine. Meanwhile, the Bible: “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” —Matthew 7:13-14 "Someone asked him, 'Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?' He said to them, 'Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.'" —Luke 13:23-24 "Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.'" —Matthew 19:23-24 "Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.'" —Matthew 16:24 "Repent, or you too will perish." —Luke 13:3 "Produce fruit in keeping with repentance." —Matthew 3:8 "God commands all men everywhere to repent." —Acts 17:30 "I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds." —Acts 26:20 Is faith alone in Jesus enough to save a person? Yes. But genuine faith is never alone. It is always accompanied by real repentance.

Fuel leakage was a necessary “non-issue,” that was managed more by when it made sense to open the wing tanks, crawl in, and scrape and reseal. This led to downtime. So was managed accordingly. Mostly during scheduled Ohase Inspections or Depot time. First, if it leaked real bad at speed, the aircraft would have contrailed, revealing its location. This never happened. So even nifty aircraft did leak beyond limits on the ground, it would be managed by when it was prudent to take the aircraft out of service. Since almost all leakage came from tank six tank six was left empty on the ground.

THE SR-71 LEAKS ON Purpose No this is not true! That's a myth. 👇 In reality, Blackbird's engineers and ground crews were focused on one thing: keeping fuel where it belongs. Those infamous panel gaps (where the leaks occur) are sealed meticulously with a specific sealant to prevent fuel from escaping. When the jet was brand new out of the factory, it would not leak a drop. So, where does the myth come from? The sealant used to keep the fuel contained breaks down under the strain of repeated heat cycles, and over time, some fuel does escape. The maintenance crews who looked after the SR-71 would measure the number of drops of fuel per minute leaking from each panel gap. These discrepancies would be logged into the aircraft's maintenance manuals for each of the 32 tail SR-71 numbers produced. There's even an excerpt from the manual that states the maximum allowable fuel leak per zone (I'll pin the photo in the comments). They used this measurement to determine the intervals at which they would need to re-apply the sealant. The myth of the SR-71's fuel leaks might make a good tale, but the real story is in the diligence of its engineers and maintenance crews. Lesson: Perfection isn't achieved overnight; it's a process of continuous improvement and hard-earned lessons. Dissecting the SR-71's fuel system, we see a tale not of intentional flaws but of persistent engineering. It's a constant game of iteration, maintenance, and system optimization, even for a legend. “The SR-71....this is what an airplane is supposed to be. She’s ugly on the ground, leaks like a sieve, but up around Mach 1, the seals all expand, she dries up, leans into the wind, and flies like a bat out of hell” ~Tommy Lee Jones in "Space Cowboys" (not a real SR-71 pilot) written by Michael Holden

“You have not because you ask not.” James The Bible is full of prayers of “the Righteous “ influencing God. Of course, the New Testament teaches that you must know Christ, and pray through Him , to God, the father.. After the resurrection, God does not hear prayers from unbeliever. Only prayers of repentance. This is the indisputable Word of God!
