The reason it’s so important to get gender ideology out of schools is because it takes one thing, gender distress, and gives a vast population a single, medicalized, irreversible pathway to address it. But all gender distress is not the same thing. Here are five different populations feeling gender distress. ✅ A stereotypical early onset trans girl. Hates her genitals as a child, frequently states she is a girl or will grow up to be a girl. Shatters during puberty. Will have permanent developmental damage without medical and psychological intervention. ✅ a natal female with autism who cannot relate to girl classmates. The boys in her class make sense to her, and she concludes her life would be easier if she were a boy. ✅ a natal male who goes through puberty and discovers wearing women’s clothes is erotic for him. He feels deep shame while developing a female alter ego. ✅ a natal female alienated because her body does not match traditional social ideals. She’s not interested in makeup or dresses, and is teased by the girls in her class. She is told you can be something between genders. ✅ a young homosexual boy find himself attracted to make up dress dresses and heels as a child. Find stereotypical feminine behavior fun to express. As puberty onsets there’s no mismatch between their body and their gender identity and they just become gay. All five of these populations will experience gender distress. But for only one of them, medicalized transition will help. It will hurt the other four. So the problem with giving children moralized, easily understood information about clinical gender dysphoria is it flattens all five of these things into one medicalized, irreversible pipeline. It provides is a single solution that is not going to serve most people. In my view, this is where the social contagion of transgender ideology comes from. It’s why these populations have exploded. It’s why people are detransitioning. And it’s why responsible trans people need to be more bold in saying most people in the expansive progressive redefinition of trans are not trans. The correct place for children to be diagnosed is with a specialized non-ideological clinician. Not with heavily moralized stories in the classroom.
