Today I completed my life as a trainee. I wore these shoes for 9 years as an M3-M4, 6 years of residency, and fellowship. These shoes have been in every surgery I've ever done. Today I will part ways with them as I take the training wheels off. 🙏 @CaseUrology @NYUUrology

I think back to how after each case, Dr. Canning would thank every person in the OR one by one, even me as a med student. I aspire to have the same level of compassion and respect in my career as he did every single day. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and the CHOP team

Dr. Canning was the kindest, most genuine physician I’ve ever worked with. He enriched the lives of everyone he met with his smile and his deep sense of caring. Such a terrible loss…words can’t begin to describe the impact he’s made on patients and people around the world. RIP
