@RDisarray @vtchakarova Rob, you do know Kremlin had been warned many times sanctions would follow if they invaded UA. Moscow deliberately chose this path, it all could have been avoided. But as someone who studies international politics, you know well that Russia weaponized energy long before 2013.

@vtchakarova I still don't get it. The EU, lead by the US, imposes unseen before sanctions on Russia and steals, in co-op with the US, around 300B in Russian assets. What exactly was Russia ought to do in such a situation? Say thank you and move forward doing business as usual? Realpolitik?

Where are all those folks screaming to my face that Russia would never weaponize energy. I want to see their faces right now.

@goldenhathi @EURACTIV With all due respect, meeting the criteria is not a necessity for the candidacy status but for the full membership. Check the list of current candidates. If fulfilling the criteria was crucial for becoming a CANDIDATE, then why are they candidates?
