@boji Unfortunately it's not something that can be changed. This wasn't something that was optional and added in by ecobee. A HomePod is necessary for functionality between Apple and ecobee.

@ecobee I’m a huge fan of ur smart thermostats. So much so that I just upgraded my #ecobee smart to the new premium. After speaking w one of your techs, I have been informed that I can’t use #siri on the thermostat unless I buy an @Apple mini HomePod?!?

@boji Hi Boji! Yes, that is correct. Siri requires a Smart Thermostat Premium or SmartThermostat with voice control and a compatible Apple hub device. The Apple HomePod and HomePod mini are the only compatible hub devices. Helpful Link: support.ecobee.com/s/articles/Set…
