@bomber_bennett @football360au FIFA doesn’t list referees by nationality, it lists them by the national association they represent. Since Gillett is now registered with English FA, he’s considered an English referee in FIFA competitions.
Same theory as to why Faghani is listed as Australian and not Iranian

Unfortunately for Australia it looks like Antonio Arena is on the verge of a national team call-up to Italy after the World Cup.
I am disappointed as someone who thinks he could've been a generational star for the Socceroos, still excited to see him for Italy tho.
