@tim_michell Would be targeting 3-4 mature age free agents into leadership roles. Toby Greene would be another and probably a backline leader. The club is likely to lose Parsh, Merrett and Ridley so it makes sense to bring in some experienced players to watch over the kids

If I could, the player I would take with absolute certainty at no 1 in this year’s draft is not Arki Butler or Harry Van Hattum. His name is Jake Miller. He’s a 197cm contested marking machine from the Western Jets. In the first two national championship games, he’s dragged down a total of 19 marks (5 contested). Unfortunately for the Dons he’s only 17 and not eligible until the 2027 draft.

@FlightPlanPod Sorry but this side by side comparison simply proves that a ridiculous investment in Walter when we already have May makes no sense. For the money it would take to get Walter you’d want his stats being substantially better. They’re not.

Archer May has looked good for small stretches since joining Essendon but Jed Walter is simply on another level ceiling wise. Walter (right) is ahead in just about every key metric with an incredibly impressive athletic profile to boot. I understand backing our boy Archer in, but I believe Walter is the perfect pairing for Caddy and an AA level talent. If we could somehow wrangle to get him much cheaper with the threat of a PSD lingering - it’s the kind of good fortune that’s eluded us for decades ❤️🖤
