The RetroTink 5x A2C flex cable prototypes came in today and it looks like I nailed it first try. I'm waiting for the oscillators to come in before I actually install one, but assuming I got all the wiring correct these should be good to go very quickly. Another huge thanks to @retrotink2 for providing dimensional data. The design processes was way smoother with that information.

@leonkiriliuk Yeah I had to do that for a intec GameCube screen. None of the 5mm through holes were available anymore so had to do the same thing with surface mount caps instead.

The future of recapping small caps is here. Convert SMD caps to through hole to compensate for sizes no longer made. 😔

@usa_retro You'd want to use distilled water to clean boards like this(not tap water) since salts and minerals are technically metals that conduct. But yeah.. always dry the boards fully before applying power to the circuits.

No wonder those boards I imported didn't work.

@BlueShell3D This is just in the style of a wrap around bridge you'd find on an Epiphone or Gibson but yeah gotta check the other stuff I mentioned at full string tension.

@BlueShell3D Plus without strings on it you don't know if the neck is at a good angle for the string height to be in a good spot. I'd pass

@BlueShell3D You'd want to measure the distance from the front edge of the nut to the middle fret then middle fret to where the bridge breaks to see if it's the same. If it's like a 1/4" off, it'll never play in tune.

Does anybody ever get the feeling that this shit will be used to convince people to hop into a permanent inescapable pod that allows them to experience the best parts of their particular favorite flavor of nostalgia with others in separate pods until their neurons finally collapse from overuse. Using their minds to increase compute far beyond anything silicone could achieve, and their bodies for forced reproduction and biofuel or is it just me I feel like I’ve heard of this concept before… 🤔 I just see way too many people who get so sucked into nostalgia like this that it’s almost as if they are dissociating from the real world or would even consider welcoming such a thing. Maybe it won’t be in an inescapable pod but I do feel like there’s a chance that it will be used to numb and distract people. How else will they convince you not to revolt when they’ve taken everything else away from you except your memories of better times Please don’t go into the matrix guys. Don’t fall for it.
