@bonerici @ben_finegold He can send me a message here on X and I will investigate and make a decision about it

I never block chat. It's always funny. In this case a @ben_finegold stream watcher who has been banned several times decided to send me 5 or 6 messages a day with requests. My guess is January2009 who acts like a 3 year old is probably a teen with no money.

@deanwball @TheZvi Rare earths are not actually rare they are just found in such small rates that to mine them anywhere is an ecological disaster. That's why if you can get away with it you want other nations to pollute their ground water with the toxic by products and not your own.
English

Imagine that you created an LLC, and that you are the sole owner and employee.
One day your LLC receives a letter from the government that says, "here is a contract to go mine heavy rare earth elements in Alaska." You don't want to do that, so you reply, "no thanks!"
There is no retaliation. Everything is fine. You declined the terms of a contract. You live in a civilized capitalist republic. We figured this stuff out centuries ago, and today we have bigger fish to fry.

@dystopiabreaker @AndyMasley Very strange. Why are all the AIs so highly correlated?
English

@ben_finegold @anishgiri I thought you weren't interested in beef.

The problem is not the bad views.📉
The problem is that you are attempting to backstab your colleagues, just to increase your chance of finishing second at the EWC.
That is not nice.
And I am not scared of your mob.
It is not a big mob, as everyone can see.

@anishgiri Nice rage bait attempt. I've never said I bring all the viewership (mentioning Levy and Magnus frequently). My comments about viewership relate to livestreaming, not long form youtube content. Failing to understand the difference shows a complete lack of understanding. Do better.

@bonerici @kmanguward @nytimes Those are pretty different numbers from what you just said above ("90% for Trump... 10% for Chase Oliver 0% for Kamala Harris"), aren't they? Is there actual public opinion/election polling you are drawing on for these figures (ranges, ballpark estimates, whatever)? If so, where?
English

Here's a free link to me in @nytimes today: "No one wished events would prove libertarians wrong more than libertarians themselves." nytimes.com/2026/02/09/opi…
English

@AndrewKosz1984 @kmanguward @nytimes libertarians have voted for the republican candidate ever since the 1960's and it's usually at a rate of 60 or 70 percent. they do it for the same reasons that communists vote democratic, to not "waste their vote". For Trump libertarians liked him more than most republicans

@bonerici Started with Cursor, now mostly Claude Code. Cursor felt safer when I was learning. Claude Code feels faster now that I know what questions to ask. Pick one and switch later if it stops working for you.
English

what's the best vibe coding environment claude cursor antigrav or cline? Tell me! I don't want to get stuck in an environment that's terrible and have to switch later.

@Civixplorer it doesn't really matter. These are all human measurements.
The universe measures stuff in terms of the speed of light, planck's constant, Boltzmann const etc, which you should set to 1.
Any thing else if purely for human convenience and doesn't have to make sense.

@kburdman5 what about software with a relatively small user base that ends up unsupported? It will be all broken into bits. There's no way Dirk is going to save the "sinking ship". He's done with private equity and corporate pirates. At least everything is in 64 bit so we have some time
English

@bonerici If the assets are good they will find a home. The denominator is the problem (asset price). Time is of the essence in finding that home as value depends on stability. My guess Dirk could buy back at half price (if he wants it) when reality sets in with the restructure folks. IMO
