@turnabouttess I often share your opinions. But every post you make is just pure negativity. A graphic?! Really? I really hope it doesn’t reflect your outlook on life. But you do you, I will just mute you.

Levy aka GothamChess scoring 8/9 vs mostly kids is perhaps one of the best results ever for an adult improver! 🔥 🔥🔥 Do you agree?

Silman? Completed it mate. The last chapter, “Endgames for Pure Pleasure” was exactly that - heartily recommended. Shereshevsky (with an eternal side of Dvoretsky) next. #chesspunks #endgame

@mencikdavid Yes! 1) Pause what you're doing if it's safe to do so. 2) Observe & accept how you’re feeling. Remind yourself it’s okay to feel how you feel, but that you can control/influence how you proceed from here. 3) Draw attention to your breath. Gradually slow & deepen breathing... 1/x

@HighgroundChess -The London will give you a solid center. -A system based opening is one way to simplify and not worry too much about opening until you‘re 2000 -I agree with the downside of initially missing out on learning opening principles on a fundamental level.

I have to completely disagree with this suggestion. - disregards fighting for center - not good for chess development - falls into same patterns which can stifle improvement - beginners shouldn’t follow a system but follow good opening principles Consider openings after 2000.

Today's tactics work. Managed to shave several seconds from my solve time, though 18 isn't gonna have anybody throwing me a parade. The work continues. #chess #chesspunks

Did an hour of problems on ChessTempo.com today. The goal is to train my mind to start seeing these patterns faster. I am very slow in my ability to see tactics. This has to improve for me to get to the level I want to be. #chess #chesspunks

@will_chess @lichess That is quite the volume! Why not more rapid? I think you would benefit even more. I often go on blitz binges myself but I never consider it training

@bongospirit @lichess Varies. I have been guilty of doing loads of puzzles and not playing, but I’m playing around 10 games of 5+3 a day now too.

Just notched up 20,000 puzzles on @lichess . Joined on 14/01/21, so that’s an average of around 18 puzzles a day. So, I’m ok at puzzles, but mediocre at the actual chess. #chesspunks

@Nicholas_Sloan_ I would tune in to watching you play online training games (maybe 15‘?) incl. subsequent analysis. Seeing the game unfold is more intruiguing than analysis only.

working on pawn endgames and my basic mechanics definitely need work. Here black is completely winning but only with one move/plan - the rest is a draw #brutal #chesspunks

@NoelStuder Love your stuff a lot but this take is off the mark. Sure, they nurture demand for opening courses etc. But trying to keep us struggling?! 🤔
