time to build the local AI pc.
went with arctic p14 pro pst fans for cooling
here's why that choice actually matters,
fans have two stats people ignore CFM and static pressure.
CFM (cubic feet per minute) = how much air the fan moves. raw volume. great for case fans pushing air through open space.
Static pressure = how hard the fan can push air through resistance. dense heatsink fins, radiators, dust filters anything that fights back.
most fans are good at one or the other:
- high CFM fans stall the moment they hit a dense heatsink.
- high pressure fans move less total air in open space.
the bc250 ships with a thick passive heatsink:
- zero fans,
- designed for server chassis with screaming 40mm deltas blasting through it
so I need both:
1. enough pressure to force air through those tight fins, 2. enough CFM to actually carry the heat away.
the p14 pro is one of the few fans that doesn't compromise.
high CFM AND high static pressure at 140mm. that's why it's goated for this exact job.

SCRAP TO SPARK update #6 three things went wrong before I got anything working. the AIO can't cool the BC250. rated dissipation is well under what the chip actually pulls it would've throttled on day one and I'd have spent a week blaming the board. the last package is sitting in customs. - no eta. - can't do anything about it. and the H1 is too short for the card. not tight. short. normally you buy a different case. I can't buy a different case. no top-ups is the rule and the rule is the entire point. so I did what any normal person would do and picked up an angle grinder. - cut left. - cut right. - gutted the interior, - drilled new holes, - fabbed a mount for the ATX plate. - different cooling solution entirely. the H1 that's sitting on my desk is not the H1 I started with. it fits. came here to turn scrap into a spark. today I just made more scrap. €0 spent still $4k from the Spark
