Office Update: i'm building a server room that dries my car. not a joke full breakdown below. step one: a dedicated room for the PCs and everything that hums. the heart of it is a StarTech 42U rack. already assembled, main server already on rails. and the rule is simple everything gets rackmounted. not rackmountable? doesn't matter. i'll design and print a way to mount it anyway. a proper server room needs exactly two things: - cooling - sound isolation cooling first, because this is where the car comes in. from my mining days i still have 2 giant tube fans that move more air than i'll ever need. one goes in the top hole, pulling all the heat out. the other side of that wall? my garage. so i'm ducting the hot air straight onto the car. winter and rainy days, the car dries fast and the garage (no heating, gets cold) stays warm for free. in summer a valve flips the flow and everything exhausts through the roof instead. then a second hole near the floor pulls cooler air back in from the garage. the room gets its own circulation loop and the garage acts as a giant air tank. sound isolation is the other one, because i'll be sitting right next to this thing. every server i add makes it louder. the ProLiant DL380 alone is already loud when the small fans spin up. people think soundproof foam panels are the answer they're really, really not. panels treat echo inside a room they don't stop sound leaving it. what actually stops sound is MASS, the more mass a wall has, the more it absorbs. the wall sandwich: - soundproof drywall - 3mm EPDM (pure added mass) - 100mm rockwool - another drywall with this stack, the noise leaving the server room should drop massively. more updates as it comes together.

We ran Kimi K3 through 3 agent harnesses (Claude Code, Hermes, Kimi Code) on 28 identical tasks. All 3 harnesses completed the tasks at similar success rates, but the interesting story is token efficiency: the same task cost up to 30x more tokens depending on the harness. 🧵🧵

WTF AI companies are purchasing large quantities of used and rare books. Scanning their contents to train models. Then turning the originals to pulp. The sum of human thought, digitized and shredded. Every book that gets scanned disappears from the physical world permanently. The knowledge survives only as training data inside a system no one can hold, browse, or resell. What used to sit on a shelf for centuries now exists as weights in a model that might get deprecated next quarter.
