@tradinghoex You forgot to mention that Lighter had to subsidize their zero fee by paying mms with points

Why does @lighter_xyz have the most bullish roadmap throughout all dexes? Here’s your answer; if you don’t understand it, then there’s no answer for you. The ticker is $LIT

X is the best source for financial news -- and hundreds of billions of dollars are deployed based on things people read here. We are building Smart Cashtags that allow you to specify the exact asset (or smart contract) when posting a ticker. From Timeline, users will be able to tap them to see its real-time price along with all mentions of that asset. We're aiming to collect feedback as we iterate toward a public release next month.

I love Jeff and respect what he has built with HL! Also i love how he built it, with privilege. But let's be real. If sector believes Jeff's way is the correct way we won't have any builders. What he sayas sounds heroic, but let's be real about the "Privilege" required to take this stance. - No Deals: It is easy to say "No Market Maker Deals" when the founder owns a HFT firm (Chameleon). You didn't need a deal because you were the liquidity. Not everyone, every start-up has this privilege. Internet capital markets needs capital to create a healthy market, there is nothing wrong about it, don't show it it's like a bad thing. - No Private Investors: this is great, but it means Self-Funded by wealthy founders. Is it more fair that only rich founders can build protocols? Or is it okay for builders to take funding/partnerships to compete with giants like you? Let's leave every protocol to build by binance then, if there is no capital raise who are gonna push the limits? - Hyperliquid replaced Private Deals with having all stack by the founder, the chain, and the primary MM all connected. This is not the same as Neutrality. It just means the deal was internal, not external. - For the HLP, let’s be real, the launch was not purely "community." HLP allowed insider whales (and likely internal capital) to farm the majority of the rewards. It was permissionless, yes, but it rewarded capital, not just contribution. It's easy to say "no" when you don't need it but this doesn't make its' the best way to do it. If you normalize this you won't find any builders in few years. There are bunch of important things to improve and discuss. This is just salty attack to ur potential competitor. Very CZ vibes. It's good to have a competitor pushes your limits. Just accept they are good, solid and move with your way. You have the advantege, use it.
jeff.hl@chameleon_jeff

Integrity has always been one of Hyperliquid's core values. The house of all finance must be credibly neutral. This means no private investors, no market maker deals, and no protocol fees to any company. The initial state of any blockchain is a crucial part of its story that can never be erased. The original ethos of Bitcoin was a permissionless network accessible to all. Hyperliquid's genesis distribution followed this spirit, going entirely to early users with core contributors excluded. The full distribution is verifiable onchain without obfuscation. This principle of fairness frustrates a few users and builders who are used to special treatment. It means that Labs has zero tolerance for team members with integrity yellow flags. It means we do things the hard way as a community. But the world deserves a financial system owned by the people, where fairness to all users is in the DNA. Nothing else is worth building.

I buy and hold $HYPE because the practice of insider deals / trading, 50% allocations to investors, point dilution to market makers, should not be the norm This industry has been raped for over a decade Believe in something

Cool! Now what about @HyperliquidX MMs? I guess we'll never know Furthermore, it's wrong to say that Jump Crypto got paid. It would be more accurate to say that they received $LIT tokens for MMing and for allowing people to sell their airdrops without problems Now I'm waiting for your post about HL MMs Organic trading, isnt it? lowk

@bookoperatorx @hlfan69 @mlmabc @Lighter_xyz Nice, but I don't see any "research" being done on this (with timestamps & txs - like this one above). It seems the Hype community is more interested in the actions of Lighter's team 🙃

@buythedipagain @tervelix No, of course not, that's why there's a maker advantage of 3 blocks. But you will have to sacrifice something in order to have decentralization. The consensus is 70-300ms.

@bookoperatorx @tervelix that's the latency for a simple ping. but how much delay is required to find consensus? 500ms? this is already factors worse than required for true HFT. obviously there is still a market for your setup, but it won't be able to replace tradfi HFT.

With the same amount of money Infinex raised from patron sales ($67.7M) Lighter built an entire custom ZK circuits for order matching. The fastest L2, a DEX engine verified directly by Ethereum, not some small validator set like competitors.
Lighter@Lighter_xyz

After the audits of our perps and spot circuits have been completed, we are publishing the code that verifies every operation of Lighter, including every order, cancel, and liquidation. More details in this thread on how the circuits work and verify Lighter L2 on Ethereum.

@buythedipagain @tervelix Latency between colocated validators is 1-5ms. Some consensus algos can optimize for locality. Or stake needs to be located close by. Graph-based BFT can bring down consensus to less than 100ms. Less in pipelined environments. I choose decentralization over a fast permisioned L2

I am talking about milisecond HFT. That won't ever be possible with blockchains. the time delay between two nodes / validators is already in the range of 50-100ms which disqualifies it for HFT. and that's not even factoring order matching, settling trades, publishing the matches.

@bookoperatorx @tervelix it's good enough on tradfi stock exchanges. there is a single fifo pipeline for all trades. you cannot have speed with decentralization.

my lighter wrapped 2025 top 2% with just $1.6M volume. i only crossed a million dollar volume cause I DN with variational to unlock the bronze tier so I could get a ref code. as I already had most of my points with a $350k volume. account Index: 726. I remember my first week on lighter i ranked 300. bruhh fumbled man. fees saved, maximum drawdown and pnl, all baby figures to y'all but yeah. what a year!! ending this year with lighter and starting the year with @superformxyz. gonna use this weekend to learn about ERC-7540, the vault standard powering SuperVaults.

lighter just officially wrapped up season 2 and distributed the final batch of points. removing and redistributing points from sybil, self-trading, and wash-trading activity. i got points I haven't gotten since like 3 months😂 see you at TGE 🫵 anything below $3B FDV is a steal and I will be buying obviously if I get that. I'd also be using funds to farm @superformxyz coming next year. stay lit boys.

@loraclexyz Don't you feel like Dubai real estate is a bubble? I'm not saying it will take off, but it gives me such "Big Short" strip club scene vibes. Everyone is a property agent, everyone buys there, because it goes up. Yet the land there is almost unlimited.

I don't want hyperliquid people to lose in the long term, so I'm going to explain what @Lighter_xyz actually enables. "Ok it uses ZK proofs so what?" When we hear "ZK proofs" we should question: What is actually being proved? Please bear with me. 👇 Standard ZK-Rollups/Validiums usually prove only the settlement. EG: >> Alice had 10 ETH, Bob had 0. Alice sent 1 ETH to Bob. Now Alice has 9, Bob has 1. The signatures are valid. << That's it. They DON'T prove what happened during the exchange. --> How the trade happened? --> Did the exchange match Alice with the best price? --> Did they let a bot jump in front of her? --> Did protocol counter traded her? You have to trust the exchange's matching engine for this, which almost always runs off-chain like a black box. However Lighter's ZK Circuit is designed to prove entire execution logic. Circuit proves that the matching engine followed the exact rules of the order book. Proof says: --> Alice's buy order arrived at xx:xx. --> The best sell order was Bob's at $000. -->The engine matched them correctly. --> No other order existed that could have given Alice a better price. If the Lighter sequencer tries to skip your order or give you a bad price, it becomes mathematically impossible to generate the proof. On the other side: - Hyperliquid's 24 validators have absolute power over the protocol. EG: >> They literally forced a market rollback on the JELLY pair to save the insurance fund (I find it as a wise move btw). That is how "trusted setup" works. - Because Hyperliquid is on its own chain, there is no "higher court" to appeal. If the Hyperliquid validators agree to censor a user or halt the chain, the user cannot escape to Ethereum because the assets are locked on the Hyperliquid chain itself, or the bridge which operated by same stack. Lighter's "single sequencer" cannot steal funds or fake trades because Ethereum L1 verifies the ZK proof. I liked this court explanation so i am gonna stick with it. Ethereum doesn't run the exchange nor exchange is running on the Ethereum. It just acts as the Supreme Court Judge. - Lighter executes thousands of trades (or cancelletion) off-chain, on their own fast servers, to give you instant speed. This is similar to other exchanges. - Lighter's servers run this ZK math - circuit that basically summarizes all those trades into a tiny cryptographic receipt, the ZK proof. Let's call it just proof. - Lighter sends this proof to a smart contract on Ethereum. - This contract has a specific function which runs a mathematical check. - It just can passes or fails. It's bianary, no abstain outcome or other outcome can come. Pure math. 2+2=4, yes or no? - If the proof is valid, which is the happy scenario, Ethereum updates the balances which are written on the smart contract. EG: >> Tervelix has 1234 $ABC - If the proof is invalid (e.g., the sequencer tried to cheat you), which is the sad scenario, Ethereum rejects the transaction entirely. - The Ethereum smart contract calculates 2+2=5 -> FALSE. The transaction is rejected entirely. The state of the exchange on Ethereum does not update. The hacker/sequencer cannot move the funds because the judge refused to sign off on the new balance. The chain effectively halts rather than accepting a lie. What if the sequencer just stops processing your withdrawal or shuts down the website? - Since the Lighter smart contracts live on Ethereum L1, you don't need the Lighter website.ü - You can call a function directly on the Ethereum contract (Force Withdrawal). - If the sequencer ignores this request for a set time (e.g., 24 hours), the contract enters "Exodus Mode." - This allows users to withdraw their funds directly from the Ethereum bridge contract using the proof, which you can generate yourself because the data is public, directly on Ethereum, not any other DA layer. You don't trust the Lighter team to be honest. You trust the code, which you can read, and Ethereum, which is the worlds most secure network. Feel free to verify on @l2beat

@tervelix Small set of validators is not good enough for decentralization but single sequencer with different zk circuits for peasants and billionaires is good enough 👍
