The @KeNHAKenya wishes to notify motorists travelling between Nairobi and Nakuru that there has been a significant increase in traffic volumes, leading to congestion at various sections of the road. The congestion is largely due to lane indiscipline and overlapping.

Today, H.E President Dr. William Samoei Ruto officially released the National Wildlife Census 2025 Report, a defining moment for the country. He was accompanied by the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, Hon. Rebecca Miano, Principal Secretary State Deparment for Wildlife, Ms. Silvia Museiya, Principal Secretary State Department for Tourism, Mr. John Ololtuaa, among other key government officials. Also present were Institute's Board Chair Dr. David Nkedianye, the Director Dr. Patrick Omondi, Board members, key stakeholders and senior management. The report will guide policy formulation, ecological planning, and targeted interventions, enabling counties, conservancies, and protected areas to strengthen wildlife management based on accurate and unified data. Key strategic recommendations from the report include: 1. Integrating the National Wildlife Corridor Mapping Initiative and census data into national and county spatial and land-use plans. 2.Strengthening mechanisms that enhance human–wildlife coexistence. 3.Accelerating enactment and implementation of the Wildlife Conservation and Management Bill (2025) and complementary amendments to the Wildlife Act (2023). 4. Piloting science-guided game farming and sustainable wildlife utilization models in selected community conservancies. 5. Allocating a percentage of tourism earnings to support wildlife management, conservation, and research. Stay tuned for more updates as we share key highlights from the report.
