The whole point of The Dance from the original series was an allegory for the framing of how dumb the War of the 5 Kings was and that it resulted in the downfall of the Targaryens. There are obvious themes of misogyny, how arbitrary bloodlines are, common folk vs nobles, acting ethically vs effectively, etc- that’s because it’s a good story. The Dance in the books is like legit just a very brief vague accounting of differing opinions on how shit played out lmao. It’s nothing like the main ASOIAF narratives or even Tales of Dunk and Egg. If anything HotD has added complexity and emotion to what’s in Fire & Blood and its neutrality

This is my problem with people who have read the books. Allow us to enjoy the show. We don’t need you criticizing everything just because it deviates from the story in the book. House of the Dragon is a masterpiece, put the book somewhere and enjoy the show.

@RedTeamReview I liked the episode a lot but people rate things high usually on spectacle. Ozymandias is great TV but it’s probably so hyped because the first ten minutes are a highly dramatic pay off / inevitable death of a main character. Still I get why it and AKOTSK E5 are so adored
