Cognizant only hires Indians. On April 2nd A Manhattan jury put a $8.4 million penalty on Cognizant Technology Solutions, ruling that Cognizant only hired and promoted Indians. It faced the same Penalty in 2024 in Los Angeles. In 2023 they faced a lawsuit from Clorox for providing terrible tech service which led to a cyber attack.

"Between May 2020 and May 2024, 90% of Cognizant's new U.S. hires went through the H-1B visa process." Its pretty unlikely they don't discriminate against American workers if they hire almost exclusively H-1B workers. Why are they being fined such a small amount? @AAGDhillon

@mcuban This is actually more of a limitation for LLMs as autonomous agents than as chat bots. They are powerful tools, but like with any tool you have to know when and what to use them for.

I’m coming to the conclusion that the biggest challenge for Enterprise AI, and AI in general , as of now, is that it’s still impossible to make sure that everyone gets the same answer to the same question, every time. Which is a great response to the doomers. AI doesn’t know the consequences of its output. Judgement and the ability to challenge AI output is becoming increasingly necessary, and valuable. Which makes domain knowledge more valuable by the second. Am I wrong ?

@mcuban The real question is: If LLMs are only able to be fully leveraged by experts, and experts leveraging LLMs remove the need for juniors, what happens in 10 years?

You CANNOT make this up. Regular American @em72479 calls the Illinois DMV… and they casually admit they’re STILL letting non-English speakers take their CDL exams in Spanish — with interpreters (even family members) for the actual road skills test. Meanwhile, we’ve got fresh headlines of CDL drivers plowing through road signs they can’t read, killing innocent people in Florida and elsewhere. USDOT just pointed to multiple fatal crashes caused by exactly this: truckers who don’t speak or read English. 5,500+ drivers have already lost privileges for failing basic English checks. People are dying because the system refuses to enforce common sense. This video isn’t just a gotcha. It’s proof that everyday Americans providing tips — recording the call, dropping the receipts — is how we actually fix things. Citizens are handing the government gold-plated evidence on a platter… and the bureaucracy is too busy being “inclusive” to care. @SpeakSamuel H1B is a scam for everyone involved. A “temporary worker” shouldn’t be building a life in the US for 20 years.

This H-1B worker has lived in the US for nearly 20 years and built a family here. His mom was dying in India. To visit her, he would need to wait months to book a consular appointment--with the soonest one available likely being scheduled one year out. He made the difficult choice of not visiting his dying mom because leaving without an appointment would mean separation from his children, job, and his other obligations. Much of the commentary around immigration focuses on how such bureaucratic burdens undermine immigrants’ ability to contribute and innovate. But we must remember that this red tape also prevents these people from being fully engaged with their own lives and meaningfully present in the lives of others. This matters too, and these seemingly non-economic problems will eventually translate into economic costs. If America is no longer a place where people feel empowered to be the best versions of themselves as they celebrate, struggle, and grieve, it ceases not just being the land of opportunity, but also the land of dignity and purpose. linkedin.com/posts/gautam-d…
