Oh my gosh, I can't believe it, my rheumatologist actually suggested that I use a mobility aid! Medical ableism is so rife that these kinds of occurrences, especially for people under a certain age, are rare.

A year ago I graduated from my PhD. It took me five years to complete & I wrote many parts of my thesis whilst in hospital. Disabled academics like myself often work on crip time. This doesn't make our contributions any less. And academia is a better place for us being in it.
