At this point screw the transatlantic alliance. Fuck Western Europe. Eastern Europe have fun defending against the Russians by yourselves because Western Europe's not coming to your aid. This alliance is not worth preserving.
Kraut@The_Davos_Man

I know a lot of my fellow Europeans are disillusioned with the Americans. But I will die on the hill that preserving the transatlantic alliance is worth fighting for. We ought to help our friends in America retake congress. Especially after what Vance did today.

@bottlediplomacy @Heroiam_Slava It isn’t massive or expensive anymore. It’s on the American knockoff version of the shaheed drone. Which is like $30k total.

Ukraine has developed drones that operate without GPS, using an optical odometry system from NASA’s Martian helicopters and Qualcomm chips, according to Russian military bloggers. At the final stage of the attack, the drone turns off communication and becomes fully autonomous. It compares images from its cameras with a pre-loaded map of heights and terrain in real time. This makes the drone invisible to detectors and invulnerable to electronic warfare systems.

Yes, terrain following navigation has been out since 70s but it is massive and expensive, just like touch screens have been out since then. This is a miniaturized, more efficient and much cheaper evolutionary step. Same as iPhone was for touch screans 40 years after first touch screens were on the market.

@ramblonrose2222 @JamesMelville @jamesmatthewsky Meanwhile he sucks dick to the biggest thug in the world, which literally ordered bounty awards on US soldiers heads in Afghanistan among other things. And is currently helping Iran shutting down US planes and with targeting data.

@JamesMelville @jamesmatthewsky You realize that Trump is dealing with thugs in Iran, no? How would you have him behave? Like a diplomat? Diplomacy has failed for 47 years because you can't make a deal with liars. The UK should be thanking Trump.

A powerful commentary by Sky News US correspondent, @jamesmatthewsky on the increasingly erratic and thuggish behaviour displayed by Donald Trump. It’s refreshing to hear a mainstream media journalist speak out like this rather than turning a blind eye.

There are hardly any adults left because almost all of them were sent to the ‘Special Military Operation’.” That’s not Western propaganda. That’s coming from inside Russia itself. Teenagers in Kashira, in the Moscow region, are starting to notice the pattern. Fathers, brothers, neighbours………gone. Killed, wounded, or simply disappeared after being sent to “liberate” Donbas. Five years into Putin’s war, even kids are beginning to understand what’s really happening. Varya put it bluntly: “It’s not Donbas that needs defending. It’s our own men, and I’m ready to break his back to stop him going to the army.” When teenagers start talking like this, the narrative is already collapsing. (Sorry about the subtitles 🙏)

We are not and never were against Ukrainian national identity. But if it camouflages Russophobia and Xenophobia, killings and discrimination of Russian-speakers, glorification of Nazi criminals and outright racism we will never tolerate such a neighbor at our borders. No one in our shoes would

‼️🇺🇸🇮🇷 BIG | When people ask the rhetorical question of how the U.S. could seize Iranian islands around the Strait of Hormuz during a potential ground operation, just look at yesterday’s unbelievable, “Hollywood-style blockbuster” special operation deep inside Iran. To evacuate a single American pilot, hundreds of special forces personnel, along with dozens of transport helicopters and aircraft, were deployed into a combat mission supported by U.S. strike aviation. The mission was successfully completed within hours without fatalities (several soldiers were injured, but none were killed). Despite the fact that Iranian forces had a top-priority target on their own territory, and all components of their military (special operations forces, artillery, drones, cruise missiles, and man-portable air defense systems) were concentrated on locating that target — the pilot — with the aim of later using him for political leverage against the United States, they were unable to counter U.S. air dominance. According to reports, hundreds of fighters from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Basij special operations units were eliminated during the operation. 🔹 In a similar but much larger-scale scenario, with overwhelming air support, U.S. ground forces would land on the islands surrounding the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian tube and rocket artillery, as well as anti-ship cruise missiles, would likely prove just as ineffective as their “maximum effort” to capture the pilot — meaning they would be neutralized before being able to act or launch under continuous aerial surveillance. The only real threat to forces involved in such a ground operation would come from Iranian operators hidden in shelters (bunkers, caves), who could potentially employ fiber-optic FPV kamikaze drones with a range of 30–35 km, possibly with Russian support on the ground. @bottlediplomacy @VolodyaTretyak That's why I said I don't have any sympathy for invaders. But it makes you think about for instance, what it would look like if US marines landed in Iran. It's one thing for Russian serfs, but how about for armies who value human life more?

There were 1000 decisiosn he had to make between him waking up one day, and deciding to go pillage, murder and rape in Ukraine. He made that decision himself, like milliosn of russians do every day, when they go kill and rape Ukrainians. Now he's dead. And 100s if not 1000s of Ukrainian lives will be spared because of that lovely god-sent drone.

@VolodyaTretyak Makes you imagine being mobilized for war, and ending up having some random enemy soldier send your wife and kids a video of you being violently torn apart. I have no sympathy for invaders, but the concept of targeting next of kin with psychological warfare is horrible stuff...
