Eugene is a ED colleague and a friend.
He is 💯 correcy about underfunding and privatisation, which has given us the scourge of Have and Have-not Healthcare.
I and the rest of Whangārei are fighting against that.
New Zealand should be a country that takes care of its people, not extracts maximum profits from them, even when they are sick and in need.

It’s appalling how this gov has handled the whole ferries deals. They are the worst financial managers ever!
The money they are flushing down the toilet is unbelievable and still counting, even when it’s all done it will costs us all more as taxpayers to make the payments for the ferries because the new funding is now a lot more. For the iRex ferries we had a good credit deal for them.

Seymour over-rules OIO advice to NOT sell 3 South Otago farms to foreign investors while attacking immigrants
Comrades, I’m a tad confused.
While Wintson is raging against the migrants, he opened NZ up for rich foreigners to buy $5million mansions and I haven’t heard ACT say jack about overstayers while they were in power and yet suddenly 6months before an election we need to copy Trump with a special immigration unit to force overstayers out of the country???
Here’s what I don’t understand – last week while ACT were proposing we create an ICE force for overstayers, David Seymour over-ruled OIO advice to NOT sell 3 South Otago farms to foreign investors while reforming the OIA to make it easy for foreigners to buy up sensitive NZ assets and land.

What I’d just say to you is it’s a case of rules for thee, but not for me. What I’m saying very clearly is it’s tough out there. It’s not easy when you have people losing their jobs, it’s not easy getting a huge pay rise when nobody else is.

I warned about this in August 2025. Forest & Bird's Toki @naturevision also raised awareness as Coalition moves to open 67% of NZ's conservation land for sale/exchange
As Simon Upston said, the majority of it has high ecological value & tourism earns far more $ for Kiwis #NZ

Helen Clark@HelenClarkNZ
Battle lines drawn on #NZ’s #conservation estate with Govt introducing legislation which would enable up to half of it to be eligible for sale. No doubt this would open more areas up for destructive activity like mining. This approach must be stopped stuff.co.nz/politics/36097…

I don’t know where David Seymour is getting his info from, but “eight layers of sign-off” is just nonsense: our solar install was handled 100% by one installer and it was easy. He compares NZ to Oz, where they have decades of incentives and subsidies.

@MusicalChairs14 As Bernard H says AoNZ is a real estate Ponzi scheme with a few bits added on, which in my opinion fuels Bank profits from leveraged debt.
Those with property assets (a political majority) extract rents from those without.
Inequality is baked in as part of the business model.

the message that's got National under 30% is:
if you're a student or disabled or a teacher or a nurse or a cop or a doctor or unemployed or homeless or nearing retirement or sick or on minimum wage or in a underpaid female dominated job... you're less important than a landlord
Clint Smith@ClintVSmith
make life harder for young people, who are already facing mass unemployment, by making them take on more debt (then complain they aren't starting families)✅️ take super away from 65 & 66 year olds, hitting the poor hardest✅️ reverse tax cuts for landlords & the rich? ❌️

UN complaint against pay parity knee capping
The permanent damage ACT, National and NZFirst caused working people by depriving so many low waged women and men their legitimate rights to pay rises so that they could fund their tax cuts and corporate welfare should be a never ending shame.
The Right will steal your money, but play to your petty bigotries.
Their satisfaction come not from an improvement in your quality of life, but by making others’ lives worse.
