@Lloyd_Cole Quite possibly the best gig I’ve been to in the past decade, among some tremendous contenders. Every song was gorgeous and the guitar and voice were beautiful. Safe travels.

Life is beautiful. Extremely blessed that our second daughter has arrived in the world. Came early, but after a few weeks in hospital, is doing great. As is my amazing wife.

Little known fact: when Mrs Doke was a teen in Strasbourg, she considered the two sexiest men ever as Beckett, and Russian poet Vladimir Mayakovsky. so it was always a flip whether she'd marry an Irishman or a Russian. Of the two, I think I look more like Mayakovsky (pictured below)

R.E.M. have a massive catalogue & I love so much of it, but if push comes to shove, THIS is my single favourite song, from IMO their best album "Life's Rich Pageant". Captures everything about them that was great. These Days (2011 Remaster) youtu.be/7vgEWp7Voyk?si… via @YouTube

Another splendid run to claim. Long Gully Track up the back of Bannockburn. Could smell wild thyme the whole way. Beautiful.

#OnThisDay in 1985, Paul Fishenden scored as Wimbledon beat Nottingham Forest to progress to the FA Cup fifth round for the first time in our history 🏆 “We are a blood and guts team. I don’t care if people criticise our play,” said Dave Bassett 🗣️ #AFCW 🟡🔵

@billycarpy Was incredibly glaring in the last minute v Forest that when Rice had the ball in the centre of the park and Trossard was in ample space to receive, he twice checked back and passed right.

According to Wyscout, the left generated 2 "positional" attacks in the first half for a total of 0.0 xG. Leaning right, especially with Saka on the pitch, is totally fine. Having no coherent mechanism for *originating* threat from the other 67% of the pitch is not.

Was happy with some of the subtext of the Arteta conference. Didn’t feel like they xG-hand-waved the Forest result, and he called out the setup on the left unprompted. I wasn’t frustrated in an existential way. It's just the exact kind of configuration we should be past by now.

As with any profession, it's sadly become a job where anonymous online criticism is prevalent and widespread. Female reporters are the vile target of this at a rate almost unmeasurable in comparison to male reporters.

Algorithm-driven, but still a tad surprised to read so much debate over the reporter's actions at the NFL post-game media opp. Very rarely post on here and probably have few readers left, but will offer my thoughts. Firstly, considering what occurs in the world daily, ...

I imagine had there not been some quickly-written criticism of the woman reporter yesterday, she would have become the target of those who then defended her actions - most likely so they could instead turn their attention to a different reporter.
