Breaking - The track vet at Aqueduct scratched Miss Apples today. Tough to hear when the trainer says she 100% disagrees with the decision and we’ve been waiting a year for this day. The horse is doing great and she thought she was gonna win and has showed no issues in training and our own vets think she’s perfect. Reason given was lame left hind. Can’t race again till May at the earliest. Vets doing their jobs I guess. I wouldn’t want to race a horse with any issues but when nobody agrees with that 1 vet it’s tough. Maybe I’ll pass on buying more horses at @OBSSales today. I’m sad.

Ray, you’ve got the audacity to ask a follow-up??? Here’s some advice: quit while you’re way behind. I’ll always be a first-generation kid from Queens. That’s never changing. I got more texts and DMs than I can count asking why I even waste my time responding to a “dinosaur.” Look, I’ve got enough self-awareness to know I can be abrasive, even an asshole sometimes 😂😂🤣. But at least I show up and put my money, time, and energy into this sport every single day. I’ve been in this game for 20 years. Between sales and my operation, I invest over $40 million a year into horse racing. I have a home in Kentucky. I’m probably one of the leading buyers at the sales, and maybe even more importantly, one of the leading underbidders, which means I’m driving the market up for everyone else. I own some of the top stallions and top racehorses in the country. I’m probably in the 1% who would’ve actually brought Fierceness back for a 4-year-old campaign. And I’d bet I give more money to aftercare than any owner or farm in the U.S. I employ countless people directly and indirectly, across farms in Lexington and Ocala, and through the many trainers I work with nationwide. I doubt many owners have more active relationships in this sport than I do. In 20 years, I’ve paid every bill, not just on time, but often early. I get that you dislike or even hate me. You’re not the first, and you definitely won’t be the last. I can live with that. I also started the NTA with Pat Cummings, 100% funded by me, to drive real change in this sport. We’re in constant conversation with top leadership across the industry, not just talking, but trying to fix what’s broken. I was an integral part of defeating the decoupling bill last year and I’m an interested buyer of Gulfstream Park. And no one spends more time than me engaging with the fans of the sport, either on social media or at the racetrack. Come on, Ray. I know I’m not for everyone. I rub people the wrong way. But you won’t find many people more passionate, more driven, or more committed to saving this sport than me. I’m not fighting for me or my generation, I’m fighting for the next ones: Millennials, Gen Z, and Alphas. It’s people like you, and the old-school, blue-blood clubs that keep destroying this game. You dinosaurs need to realize I’m not fighting against you, I’m fighting for the future. For the families, the kids, the horseplayers, the horsemen and women who love this sport and depend on it to live. I don’t give a f$&k if it’s 1 vs 100, I’ll fight this battle to the end. And as my friend Kobe Bryant once said: “If I ever get into a fight with a bear… pray for the bear.” 🐻🔥
