@NiecyOKeeffe Ha! He probably would. I remember proudly moving into my first little house in Kill O' The Grange in the early 80s. Into our estate came a loud Corpus Christi procession led by a priest. I put my speakers out the window and blasted them with The Rolling Stones! They ran!

@StevenVdWalle Very sad news. One of the greats indeed. And very modest and generous with his time as well.

Anyone know what this supper-large bee is? It was on its own.

Epic northern lights display from Seapoint about 10pm last night. Amazing to see the aurora so clearly in Dublin. Camera obviously enhances the colours but could be seen with naked eye.

Day 6 of my Namibia trip, and a day spent at one of the most iconic of places in Namibia, Deadvlei. The dead camel thorn trees are estimated to be around 900 years old. This photo was taken early morning before the sun had hit the dunes or white clay pan floor.

My older brother, Aidan - gone too soon….
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus@DrTedros

I'm devastated and heartbroken at the passing of a very dear friend and colleague, Aidan O'Leary, Director of the @WHO Polio Eradication Programme. Aidan's passing is a shock to all of us, and especially to his family and friends in his native Ireland and around the world. On behalf of WHO, I extend my deepest condolences to all of them. Aidan was an outstanding humanitarian. He served tirelessly in the most difficult parts of the world, to help the most vulnerable populations survive and thrive, and to #EndPolio. He embodied the ideal of service and solidarity across peoples and borders. His passing is a terrible loss for WHO, for the @UN and for all of humanity. We will miss Aidan enormously. But we are committed to continuing his legacy to realise his vision - and ours - of a polio-free world. Rest in peace, my dear friend.
