🇪🇺 European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen tells a protester he is “lucky” to be in an EU country where free speech is a right, not in Moscow where he would be jailed… …as police escort him out.

If you build two walls, one from NYC to the West Coast and another from LA to the East Coast, the total length will be 7,755 km, which is still about 1,000 km short of Iran’s total borders. Good luck blockading a country with those borders😁 P.S. For Pete Hegseth: 1 km = 0.62 mi

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇱 Only one thing changes Israel's foreign policy: America cutting them off completely. Scott Horton says every regime change from Baghdad to Damascus was never something Israel could do alone. It was always a to-do list for America to execute on Israel's behalf. On the afternoon of September 11th, before Bush addressed the nation, Ehud Barak was already on the BBC naming the countries that needed to be targeted next. @ScottHortonShow

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 The man who started the war is the same man who has to end it, and he can't without admitting he lost. Scott Horton says the solution is obvious: pull out, shift the burden onto Tehran, and walk away. No real American interests are at stake. The only thing stopping it is the Pentagon, the arms industry, and every entrenched power that profits from keeping the empire alive. "There are no real crucial American interests at stake, only imperial interests, but none that truly affect the American people." @ScottHortonShow

Not a loaded or an accusatory question. I pray this is not misunderstood in that way. How does the new Syria judicial process work? Asking for Bilal Abdul-Karim who has been detained for a while. When does he get access to a lawyer or stand before a judge? Is there anything that can be done to get his case going or secure a release on bail? What is the law in the newly-freed nation? Could Ankara intercede for him in the meantime via their ambassador in Damascus while the judicial system is being set up or reorganised? Or any leader from Idlib who can ask a favour from Al-Sharaa in the spirit of the years Bilal showed solidarity with a once-ignored and forgotten Syrian people? Or any of the charity organisations currently helping to rebuild Syria who worked with Bilal and can privately speak on his behalf for an executive order for his release?

The former head of the Mossad is comparing the actions of Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank to Nazis in the Holocaust. If someone said that in the West they'd be accused of antisemitism under the IHRA definition.

🇺🇸🇮🇱AMERICANS SERVING IN FOREIGN NATION [ISRAEL] TO BE TREATED SAME AS U.S SOLDIERS. U.S Congress is about to extend certain legal and financial protections to 23,000+ American citizens serving in the Israeli military (IDF). The proposal explicitly frames IDF service as deserving of treatment similar to U.S. military service, stating it would treat Americans serving in the IDF “in the same manner as service in the uniformed services” for specific legal protections. The measures focus on benefits like job protection and financial relief during service, but remain proposals and have not been fully enacted.

The person in charge of censorship for Israel over at X is their new head of product, Nikita Bier. He’s apparently unhinged and rants about the Holocaust and sees it as his mission to censor people who criticize Israel. He’s allegedly the reason for these bizarre, Zionist artificial trends. Goodbye Tik-Tok and X. They are now a part of the dead internet, psy-op. Israel is so evil that it requires mass censorship because any rational human being that learns the truth about its history will stand opposed to it. They are now trying to force state censorship laws, and enforce an internet police state to cover their lust for murder.

Unfortunately, the pattern of sexual violence Israel is using against Palestinian detainees in Sde Teiman and other prisons has become an inseparable part of Israeli warfare. A new report, published by the West Bank Protection Consortium (led by the Norwegian Refugee Council), documents how sexual violence is a structural part of Israeli ethnic cleansing efforts by settlers with the backing of the IDF: 1) Wadi al-Seeq: After the community was forcibly displaced, three men reported that settlers detained them and attempted to sexually assault one man with a broomstick while he was blindfolded. They described forced stripping, beatings, burning, and being urinated on. Perpetrators circulated images of the abuse. 2) Bethlehem governorate: Two 15-year-old boys herding cattle were attacked by settlers, beaten, blindfolded, and stripped. One boy was urinated on. The other sustained a broken leg. 3) Jordan Valley (specific location withheld): Witnesses described a Palestinian man subjected to severe sexual assault in front of his family during a violent settler raid. Women and girls were beaten, children were threatened with death, and threats of rape were made. Residents remained largely unprotected. 4) Bedouin community (location withheld): A woman reported that settlers arrived at her home accompanied by Israeli forces. Two female soldiers ordered her to strip naked and conducted a full-body inspection. She described being instructed to open her legs in a way that caused pain, along with derogatory comments and touching of intimate areas. 5) Susiya: Settlers pushed a woman against the wall inside her own home, in front of her children, and made sexual verbal threats. 6) Ein al-Duyuk: Settlers repeatedly attempted to touch women's bodies while driving tractors close to homes and cultivated areas. 7) Al-Baqa'a: A settler walked naked between Bedouin shelters shortly before the community fled overnight. 8) Multiple locations: Settlers exposed themselves, made threats of rape, and stalked women as they walked to latrines. 9) Ras Ein al-Auja: Settlers attempted to force open a latrine door while a woman was inside. 10) Khirbet Wadi al-Rakhim: A settler sexually harassed a family member and threatened them with reference to the Sde Teiman detention facility, documented for forced nudity, sexual violence, and the use of dogs against detainees. 11) Mleihat community, Mu'arrajat East: A young woman described avoiding eye contact with her brother after a settler made an obscene hand gesture, describing the shame it carried. 12) This often led to dislocation. One survivor said: "They tried to drive us out in every way, using the worst methods against us. In the end, they resorted to targeting women and terrorizing them. They confined a woman in a room and placed a settler at the door while she was alone inside. This was the last incident that happened before we left. it was the straw that broke the camel's back. This method is what forced us to leave our land in exchange for protecting the women. And this issue is very sensitive for us; it is what made us leave after years of patience and suffering."* Another said: "What pushed me to take the decision of relocation was the harassment my wife, daughters and daughter-in-law were experiencing. Settlers started to approach the shelters when my son and I used to leave for work. And they were watching the women closely, whistling when women went out of the shelters in broad daylight and throwing stones at us at night. I was terrified that something bad might happen to my family because of this constant settlers' violence when I was away."* Much like in Sudan and other genocides, sexual assault is being used by Israel as a weapon of war. It is leading to the depopulation of large parts of the West Bank.

This convo re #Zionism suggests Israel’s genocidal present is a perverse mutation. It preserves Israel’s innocence & mourns a past enjoyed by secular Zionists. This is predicated on Palestinian erasure. It has always been a monstrosity to its primary victims #Racism #Colonialism
The New Yorker@NewYorker

Omer Bartov is an Israeli professor of Holocaust and genocide studies at Brown University. His new book, “Israel: What Went Wrong?,” argues that Zionism has morphed into an ideology of extremism that led to genocide in Gaza following the Hamas attacks of October 7th. He joins David Remnick on #RadioHour to discuss. Listen to the full episode: swap.fm/l/tny-radiohou…

Our daughter, Rachel Corrie, was killed in 2003 in Gaza, while trying to protect a Palestinian home facing illegal destruction by the Israeli military. She was 23 years old. The massive, armored Caterpillar D-9 bulldozer that crushed her was operated by two Israeli soldiers and manufactured in the United States. It was the same type of militarized bulldozer that US presidents from George W. Bush through to Donald Trump have delivered to Israel. Today, as the destruction of Palestinian homes has only become more commonplace, not to mention the horror of Israel’s genocide, Senator Bernie Sanders will force a vote in the Senate to try to end this cycle of death by banning the transfer of D-9 bulldozers to Israel. We hope he will not take this stand alone. No policy can bring back those taken from us by these actions—children and other loved ones. But the Senate now has an opportunity to honor the memories of our daughter, other Americans, and thousands of Palestinian civilians killed, and to show that their deaths, and all the destruction, will no longer be condoned and funded. We hope those elected to represent us, the American people, understand the message that voting to block these D-9 bulldozers will send. This will not be a symbolic gesture, but a concrete step toward the protection of human life. thenation.com/article/politi…
